Guess what I should do is buy the springs, then install and take my own measurements, then order shocks?
In your opinion should I take my vehicle out of commission until I have shocks or can I just drive it on the road and not like a crazy person?

 

Would any of you be interested in buying a set of Goodyear Duratracs in 265/75/16? They have about 7k miles on them.

Next week is cab mount chop and new 285's for me.

 

lol I would guess driving without shocks isn't the safest idea. It would probably ride like a Model T.

My thoughts would be:
1. Buy springs
2. Install springs, get measurements
3. If you aren't very close to maxing out the old shocks, put the old shocks back in, otherwise revert to old setup completely. Chances are that normal street driving isn't going to have you pushing the shocks to one extreme or the other, but if the difference is way too much, use your old setup
4. Order new shocks
5. Put in all the new stuff.

 

Hahaha I meant driving on my current bilsteins, not just with springs that'd be insane

Ok but yeah that plan is basically what I was thinking... sigh ok here we go

 

Kids got me a console vault for Christmas, now I can go buy a new Sig P227 to fill it!

Got a lot of stuff for the backwoods; tool kit, ExOfficio gear, wool blanket from Das Mule, and this really cool thing that will jump start my truck. About the size of a brick, on one charge it will do 20 jump starts then I recharge it. And a 0 degree sleeping bag

Yessir! Just have to recharge it every 4 months or so which takes about 15 minutes plugged into my computer. Also can charge anything with a usb plug or regular plugs.

 

BS. A usb can't pack enough electricity in something in 15 min to jump a car. Let alone 20 times!!

 

It isn't about the elec. It's about the energy. And you can. We do it on planes a lot. How do you think tazers run on AA batteries?

my boss has one, jumps started 3 dirt bikes and a damn diesel and the light said it still had over 50% power left.

damn now im really curious on that! I bought one of those packs form auto-zone that "should" be able to start my truck and car but the one time i tried it it failed so now it just sits. Sounds like this might be a great investment. Always go skiing and camping solo and worried of leaving the lights on or something and waking up to a dead battery

 

Truck gave me a present - I have a CEL now.
I'll have to look at it once I'm on lunch.
