    I just bout my first Toyota and am looking to put a lift on it and bigger tires what you guys think of wheel spacers to set the wheels out further so I can put wider tires on

    i have boras now, and had spidertrax before for about 2 years. they're both the same type of shit. no problems with either.

    Why?

    Buy wheels with the right offset and back space = no spacers.

    Mine:

    3" Lift
    Wheels: MT 17x9, OS: -12, BS: 4.5", CB: 108mm
    Tires: MT ATZ P3, 285/70/R17, 33"x11.5", E Load

    ... had to lose the gaudy front flaps, very minor trimming...

    If you dont go cheap then wheel spacers wont kill you. They will just look cool.

    I have 4 spydertrax on mine with no issues.

    I don't think the article was advocating wheels with equivalent offset instead of wheel spacers. It was instead saying that using tires so wide that they require changing the offset significantly through either spacers or new wheels will put a surprisingly large amount of additional load and wear on the bearings. That seems pretty sound.

    Of course there are many mods that put additional wear on parts of the truck and people just accept they will have to replace those parts more frequently. "The more you know...."
