More horsepower, but not more torque?

I know. I read your post.

 

According to this, the new engine has 248 ft.-lbs. of torque. That's less than the 2015 model which has 266 ft.-lbs. of torque. However, it doesn't specify what RPM this peak occurs. I'm kinda glad that I bought a 2015 model.

Def not going to have 248ft tq....it'll be around 278 not 248

 

Note the keywords "guess" and "at least", because 270 hp and 248 lb-ft are what the RAV4 got on this engine without direct-injection. The Tacoma's numbers will be higher, but nobody knows how much higher.

 

BTW, RAV4 with 270 hp was quite the rocket!

Toyota's website says nothing about more horsepower, but thats what the whole thread is about. Just a guess, but I'd say Motor Trend is getting their info from somewhere....Jeeeez....

This is guessing by MotorTrend and notice it was released on January 7th... This article is complete balogna.

 

That's why they are known as Rumor Trend for over a decade now

 

Did anyone that has themselves all worked up over the alleged lower torque values of the new 3.5L V6 actually read the article?

In the very 1st SENTENCE Motor Trend says:
