    Sorry, but the last Gen 2 interior - the silver plastic one - feels like a cheap boombox. I agree that Toyota had a huge edge in the 90's and into the 00's with their switchgear and interiors. But the decontenting era under Ken Watanabe hit them hard. They are beginning to recover under Akio Toyoda, but they have not had a big edge.

    GM, for its part, nickle and dimed interior parts for thirty years, producing utter junk. But they have turned a corner as well, and seem to be emphasizing long term quality and long term profitability over the cost-cutting of the past. The new Canyon has the same switchgear as the Sierra, and it's not bad at all.

    Forgive me, but which years are the last gen 2 interior? Are you talking about the '12-14ish or older? My '09 is decent. The only part that doesn't fit is the crappy aftermarket Scosche double-din cover. :)

    The 12+ had the boombox design changed to a solid glossy black appearance.
