I have a 2008 TRD Sport 4x4 auto and can see that there is a leak coming out of the radiator. I'm told that this is for the transmission cooler.

It appears to be leaking at the fitting which may be caused by a bad clamp or hose. I'm not worried about replacing these components. I'm more worried about replacing the transmission fluid that has already been lost and any additional fluid that will be lost while changing the hose or clamp.

From what I have read, the 2nd gen auto Tacomas have sealed transmissions... but there must be some provisions for topping up lost fluid?

I have attached a picture of the leaking area.

A quick search of 'transmission fluid check' will show you the safe and correct way to check and fill the transmission.... it's easy to do.

Alot of transmissions are low from the factory, mine was. It's a good idea to check it. The "sealed transmission" thing is a way to get people to have the dealershit service them. It's not too hard to do on your own just make sure you use toyota fluid.
