i got my buddy that same cb for his bday. We haven't installed it yet but I'm curious as to how you like it. I got the big Cobra 29 LX.... bought it for the features and didn't consider size at the time. Love the size of the cb you have. Does it perform well? i.e. tunable, reach out far, etc.

Finally able to make the fairing today. As of now the rack build is done, although I was messing around with some ideas to close off the space on either side of the light bar.

I started off with intensions of keeping the weather stripping. I marked and drilled holes for the bolts but when it came time to install (in the cold and dark) I was having trouble finding the tapped holes with the bolt. I drilled bolt size holes in the weather stripping, not realizing the spacer would sit on top and add bout 3/4" to the height off the roof. So in frustration and wanting the slim line install I ripped them off and bolted it down :anonymous: I did fill the tapped holes and spacers with RTV before bolting down for a weather tight seal. With lots of snow and rain the past weeks I've had zero leaks in the cab. If I was to do it again I might try to cut a hole the size of the spacers in the weather strips (bolt size hole was a little tough cuz of the rubber rib going down the center of the weather stripping) but I'm overall happy with the install and won't unbolt it to fuss with the weather strips.

Honestly the best thing to do is to cut the weatherstripping into sections to fit between the standoffs. Much easier than cutting holes and gives the same look. Just add a little rtf underneath to help hold it down.

I really dig my CB. I chose it cuz of the weather band option. I don't always pick up the weather band where I live now, but where I use to I could pick up two different channels. As for distance, I was inbetween trails on the highway with a buddy following and literally documented one highway mile between us and we could still hear each other clearly.

That's why I started kayak fishing :spy:

Nice, may due this in the future.

Just got my next mod material in the mail :woot:

The plan is to turn the rock shield into an amber lense for my Hella grill lights
