stock thermostat vs stant 14077??? need help asap!!

    Ok guys I'm changing my thermostat right now for the supercharger and they look quite a bit different. The stant doesn't have a jiggle valve and looks cheap compared to the stock one. Pics are below. Which way should I put the stant in??? Also it didn't Come with a rubber seal so I will reuse the stock one?

    You will want the jiggle valve, otherwise you will not be able to purge the system of air, possibly causing you overheating issues.

    Ok and this rubber seal doesn't seem to fit any of the thermostats?!?!? Wtf is going on? Maybe I don't use the seal?

    used to have - 99 2.4L I4 5 lug & 04 prerunner v6
    if a part looks cheap then its made cheap and will work like a cheaply made part so get a genuine replacement, when it comes to a thermostat they last a long time and you want it to work reliably so its not a huge difference to get a quality oem replacement

    ps - you need the seal, that's what seals it to make it work correctly. without it the water just flows around it. its just deformed out of shape from being old.

    go to Toyota and get a oem replacement, it should come with the new rubber

    Stock is 180 and the trd one is a fortune

    Ok fixed it! I read on ttora some guy had the same issue and drilled a 1/8" hole in it.
    I rigged the seal up to fit lol!

    I've done a mod or two
    The seal is a separate part and yours looks absolutely fubar. When I changed my thermostat I made sure to get a new one from Toyota (pretty cheap) and a new thermostat seal from them as well.

    Haha well I reused it. my car is parked for winter and this is my only vehicle. I had to get her going.
    Anyways went for a drive and everything seems good. No leaks from water neck and temp stayed good! Now this week is the supercharger install!
