Is there any difference between the Tundra rails and the Tacoma rails, other than the metal cleats on the Tundra? Are the Tundra rails thicker / stronger?

 

no idea. I doubt it. If I had to guess who ever makes them they are made in bulk(20 or 30 foot pieces) and cut to spec by toyota. Thats my guess, absolutely no research behind that.

 

Are they metal? Or just plastic like the Tacoma? Interested now.

 

From my reading the cleats are aluminum, Note sure about the rails. Here is my source. in one of the reviews one guy states that they are "heavy duty" when he cut them down.

My friend has these metal cleats on his Tundra, and always makes fun of my plastic cleats. I'll have to try one of his metal cleats on my Tacoma rail the next time I see him.

 

I believe the plastic Tacoma cleats have the same load rating.

 

Yea, probably because of the rail rating itself.

But, the metal Tundra cleats would not do this:

Looks like the rail system is suffering more than that cleat.

Definitely just an SR5 but still seems like a great deal. The guy who owned it probably put that decal on. Also says 4 wheel ABS haah
