I just wandered onto an Expo build, saw you were designing a rack for a certain Land Cruiser gunna be sick!! But I also wandered onto Heretic Lighting....you have my full and undivided attention!!

Are those orange leds? I need this.

 

Like these..You need a 3/4" one though. Pretty hard to come across locally for me.

I used a razor to cut all the rubber around the area a little larger then the holes I was going to drill into it then Tin Snips or Dikes to cut the metal piece. I was mounting a lightbar mount then drilled holes big enough to fit spacers in.

 

Heretic is great. Let me know if you want to get something going. They have been great to work with and make a top notch product.

 

Just the lens cover is orange. I have been using the same thing on my roof light bar for a few months now. Really like it.

 

Does it actually shine orange? I have some lamin x on my leds and they look yellow

 

Yeah the overall light output goes down but the light is definitely a good Amber color.

you can usually pic these up from a leather/saddle/western/shoe place. But a 12 piece for $12 is solid.

 

I just ordered a set on Amazon too. I've never used them before though. Do you just line it up and hit the back with a hammer?

I just did this yesterday, using the same set Geekhouse linked above. Just give it a couple of good whams.

The stripping will be a lot floppier once you punch the holes - because you've cut the metal on the inside of the rubber - but it won't make a different once you get it snapped back onto the truck.

Thanks buddy, placed the order yesterday but because I was anxious to put them back on I messed them pretty bad. Just finished installing the rack once again without the strips. I'm gonna try and find some strips in the web for a reasonable price, if not, I'm OK with it!!!
