The only thing I've done so far is to upgrade the interior lighting with LED's (map lights, dome and vanities). Made a world of difference.

    - Weatherteck floor mats
    - Back seat cover/protector for doggo and kiddo
    - Soft tri-fold tonneau cover to keep snow out of bed

I live on a dirt road and have a toddler (pint sized dictator) the above really help protect the truck from everyday day grim

SnugTop topper, WeatherTec mats, thats all for now

Do these work? Seems like the anchors would pull out of the carpet pretty easily and leave a ragged hole.

I have Weathertechs, but the passenger side always scoots around. Looking for a solution.

    What's been your exprerience?

I worried about it too, but its been about 3/4 of a year and no issues yet. They screw into the carpet, but if you were worried you could try epoxying them in or something for more stability. I think the key to success here is getting them in good and tight in the first place. Every now and then I check them to make sure there aren't any issues and I haven't found any yet - and my wife's superpower is breaking things... so there ya go.

There was a whole thread dedicated to this - which is how I learned about them. Let me see if I can dig it up.... No dice. Couldn't find it in a reasonable amount of time. (I also may be search inept too.)

    On a side note:
Here's another essential mod, especially if you're going to put a cover or cap on your truck bed:

Everything else is after you get a bed mat to keep things from flying around in the bed.

If you want a poor man's bedmat, cheap gym floor lining cut to shape works pretty well.

I would consider most of what I've done to my truck budget friendly. Mostly in part because I'm cheap. I'll try to list a couple things. I think most will have already been posted.

    - Led lights.
    - map, dome, headlight, foglight, license plate, reverse.
    - Painted fog lights yellow
    - Knockoff pro grill (I had an Amazon gift card so I spent 40 bucks)
    - Plastidipped door emblems. I used some silver graphite color, didn't want to use black like most.
    - paracord oh shit handles on the headrests. Made them myself.
    - center console organizer.
    - my most expensive model was the softopper. But found it used on craigslist for 250. Couldn't pass it up.
    - 2nd gen side steps. Also found on craigslist for 80 bucks (could be wrong on the price but that number sticks out in my head)

Keep an eye out on for sale section and craigslist. Lots of good deals, just have to be patient.

    That was the start.

I went to Headlight Revolution. Seems like an easy job. There is a video on both.

    https://headlightrevolution.com/vehicles/toyota/toyota-tacoma/toyota-tacoma-2016-2018/

Also forgot to mention. The Dealer put in window tint. Im not really a fan of it. I live in the country where it is very dark and backing up sucks looking out a darkened window at night.
