I lost track of the errors in this video. Is this guy really a Toyota Chief Engineer for the Tacoma, or is he the Chief Engineer of the toy train set in his basement?? Choo choo!

Enjoy the fun! Winner is the TW member who counts the most mistakes!

I didn't watch far enough to get to the errors in the video.
Although I did notice that your spell check doesn't work or that you have an issue with spelling "chief" the same way twice in the same paragraph.

I think the guy is nervous on camera... as a fellow engineer, I know that public spotlight is not our forte.

The mistakes he made were because of conditioned responses and talking too quickly... not because he doesn't know.

    No news here...

Elsewhere on the 'net he is introduced as "executive program manager." Big difference.

This guy Sheldon does not really seem to know his product really well. There are a few errors and he did not really 'sell' me on the Tacoma. He was very proud of it, but did not really back it up. I am a new Tacoma owner and kinda taken aback at this interview. I hope he is a better Manager than Engineer. I looked up his profile on LinkedIn and seems to be correct at least on his profile, but his profile is really empty. Perhaps he grew up through the ranks on some internal program? He also says he's out of Detroit. Isn't Toyota USA in Texas?

I give the guy credit for not calling the composite bed a "liner"

I see what you’re saying but disagree. It’s not just a couple good-ups. They interviewer taps the steel bedside and indicates it’s composite and the engineer agrees. That’s not just nerves. I just think it’s misleading to call this guy the “Chief Engineer for Tacoma”. It’s embarrassing for Toyota.

I am surprised though that Toyota would let him speak publicly. If your job is to be in front of press and people, you better practice. You better represent your product better than anyone out there. I have myself am in sales and started as a software engineer. I would spend hours or weeks practicing. This guy has too high a title to be such an amateur. I would send this guy back to the trenches not representing such a critical part of the business. Sorry to be blunt.

Eh, I disagree on the bed side goof. From my memory watching it, the "engineer" does not look like he's in agreement and looked like he was about to correct him, but let it slide. All he said is that they've been making them that way since the 2nd gen. That was the interviewer's blunder... not his.
