I apologize it’s Saturday and I’m a day late, but what’s with all the bozos lately buying a new truck that doesn’t have the features they want, has features they don’t want, and then joining TW to complain about it? Are the Tacoma’s good looks just hypnotizing these people into buying it anyway, even though they should’ve noticed in the first few minutes of a test drive that it doesn’t have the power of a V8, or the gas mileage of a Honda Civic (MPGs are right there on window sticker)… Or that full grown men can’t sit in the back seats comfortably for long trips, or the backup camera looks like it’s 2 megapixels, or the interior plastic doesn’t feel thick enough (or whatever it is they complain about that)… Or the seat isn’t comfy… or they wish it didn’t have safety tech… or the rubber stripping on the roof that isn’t there to seal off any water has a tiny gap in it, etc..?

If a mid-size pickup without luxury car features doesn’t suit you, then you should have bought something else that does. There are plenty of other brands and models to choose from. It’s like a guy who only wants to date 9s and 10s that are 15 years younger than him, and then wonders why he can’t find a nice girl who won’t cheat and will make him dinner every night instead of hitting the clubs dressed like a prostitute. The rest of us that bought the right vehicle for our needs will continue to enjoy this truck’s reliability for the next few decades, after almost all the other vehicles of the same age have long been crushed and recycled into tuna cans. Long live the Taco!

Some just aren't able to admit they didn't shop wisely and instead blame others. TW is the confluence for such folks.

Hahaha!! It gets annoying reading all of the threads of how they are terrible at shopping and looking for what they need instead of what’s cool. And then come to a forum where nearly everyone loves their Taco and bitch.

I didn’t even know what a Tacoma was I test drove it after I bought it and surprised when I got home it had a 4 cylinder engine and didn’t have keyless entry or fog lights but it met my budget for a brand new truck with a long bed to replace my dying 2007 Colorado. fortunately I got lucky and love it.

Complaining about one's ride isn't unique to this forum or community. It's been that way on every vehicle forum I've ever been part of.

Though, admittedly, there does seem to be a preponderance of stupid complaints here.

I've learned to assume nothing here. We have a thread on the front page complaining about push button start. lol

OP actually hates push button start, it's a whole nother level of disdain for a lack of keys to clean out his ear wax.

Yes, it's the best looking truck in the segment and a lot of truck buyers buy based on image/rugged looks.

You're in a minority of new truck buyers. Average time a new truck buyer keeps a truck in United States is 4-6 years. Again a person buying one for looks is more likely to fall into this category. Toyota sells 1/4 million of these per year so a wide variety of buyers get them and thus you get wide range of POVs on this site.

So true. I test drove the one I bought and a DCSB V6, and went for the SR long bed. A great deal at $23,700 for a brand new truck. I have electrical skills and have since added keyless entry, fog lights, intermittent wipers, Lomax Tonneau, etc. It’s just what I wanted and I love it. Even love the sound of the 2TR-FE engine when I wind it up, a solid engine. No Regerts. lol
