I have to admit I am guilty of hating my Taco for the first few days but now I love it. I went from driving a 95 5.8L Bronco XLT to a bare bones 2020 Taco SR 2.7 auto so the power difference was a shock to my right foot. I was going to return it but grew to love the little bastard.

Your truck came with an engine? Wow.

Mine came without and I installed a heavy duty minivan engine. Worked out great.

    This thread is too funny!

I do have a story though, but it's not about the dealerships. My last truck got totaled in a blizzard, and it's got to be the worst time to try and find a replacement.

I called two local Toyota dealerships looking into what it would take to get a 2022 Tacoma. The first dealer basically told me that I'm "not worthy" to buy a Toyota - apparently merely asking if there's anything new on the lot is a heinous crime with this dude (sales manager). The second dealer explained all the "just arrived" Tacoma's on the web page were actually orders already sold (like 6 months ago), so no - nothing on their lot either. But at least the second dealer was polite explaining the 'real world' to me.

In the end I called up a non-Toyota dealer who sold us my wife's new car a while ago, and told him I was looking for a used Tacoma. He had one on the lot; we went in, drove it then bought it.

Oh yea... this thread is complaints about our new truck... well... it's white. I did want blue. I guess that counts! :-D

I agree that it sounds like a lot of people didn't do any research before buying their truck.
That being said, I went to 4 different dealers before I bought my 22 CCSB off road. I couldn't find 1 new tacoma to look at in person. Unfortunately, the salesman were less than helpful as far as knowing what options / configurations were available. With the help if this forum, I was able to figure it out.
When I bought my 2019 CCSB off road, each of those same 4 dealers had approximately 25 tacomas in stock.
It has to be tough for first time tacoma buyers that are purchasing trucks from the dealers incoming invetory list rather then buying a truck that was sitting in the lot.

I hate to complain but all Friday worthy threads need to stay on Friday's. I don't see why OP had to throw this shit at us on Saturday. Saturday always has way more content such as: (What is the best lift) (What is the largest tire I can fit without rub) (My dealer said.....) :)

Well wait... why am I buying a tacoma to say it'll outlast a dodge, Ford, Chevy, if I plan on trading it in for something else in five years anyways? This is the same thinking of leasing and buying an extended warranty....
