LOL the manual guys zeal does make me smile. Been driving manuals since I was 15 1/2, didn’t realize it was something novel to aspire to lol. Replaced clutches, throw out bearings, pressure plates by myself at 16 & 17. My later half of life driving automatics and haven’t looked back. It’s funny to read posts about how to drive one, double clutching, etc. but makes sense for those who’ve never driven one, i’f you never had someone teach you.

I've been wondering why my ears have been so dirty ever since I got vehicles with keyless entry...

I would have bought the automatic if it came with the option of getting the 4.30 gears.

You are correct my friend. I do wonder if it will last as long as my 08 corolla mt with 325k original clutch doesn't burn a drop of oil and nothing but tires and brakes. I can't kill that car it loves the rev limiter.

Yep, I got the automatic with a deluxe 2TR-FE cast iron block I-4 engine, it comes with a 4.30 diff and first gear is a beast.

That’s pretty amazing clutch life there. We replaced clutches quite often back in the day, of course street racing was the thing that helped that lol.

I wouldn't believe it either but it's the truth, 90 percent highway miles and 98 percent me driving it helped alot. Probably won't last much longer though as im going to teach my 19 yo son to drive a clutch.

If "no divorces but I can appreciate good ole fluzy fun like back in college… not sure what your aversion is. Also I like the taste" translates into detecting sarcasm for you, then ok carry on with your keen observation skills.

I do give you points for the crayon reference though

Hey I don’t think anyone complained about the payload yet….or lack there off. Look if ISIS can take a 70 series and mount an AA gun in the back, then Baja the piss out of the truck, and not break down in the middle of the desert, well I want to too

I can tell you why it's worse now than before. With the car market the way it is, there are a lot of people buying site unseen on new because if you don't other people will and then your stuck with something you don't want if you need a vehicle now. When I bought mine I knew it wouldn't have some of the features I was used to like heated steering wheel, heated and cooled seats, and sunroof but I never even thought to ask if it had push button start or even built-in GPS so I don't have to use my phone. Those are things that should just be included in any vehicle in 2022 not just tacoma. I can live without push start although it's annoying to have to fish for my keys and not be able to start my truck from the house on a cold morning but how am I supposed to navigate in the mountains with no cell service? That's crazy to me. If I'd have known the sr5 doesn't have navigation without a phone I would have never bought it.

Good point, I bought my 22 CCSB off road from the dealers incoming stock ( waited about 1 month for it to come in).
As I mentioned in my earlier post, I went to 4 different dealers and not 1 had a new truck in stock to look at in person ( a few used ones were kicking around).
I signed my purchase agreement not knowing how much I'd like the cement colored Interior (turns out that I do)
As far as the salesmans help, it wasn't very helpful. 2 dealers told me that the power tailgate lock was not available on the 22 tacoma. That's something I can live without, ot there are plenty of youtube videos showing how to install the toyota kit that cost about $175.
The Salesman I bought the truck from could not confirm that my truck would have the remote start.
I relied on the information from this site to make my purchase.

That's not how it works. If you buy a manual you have to tell everyone...over and over...as if you are now part of some master race of humans.

I have had a 4speed manual, a 5speed manual, a 6speed manual. Of all the manual transmissions I have had, the 6 speed manual is the most enjoyable manual transmission to have. IMHO :mudding:
