It's getting a little cool now but when it warms up and you get the coils from fish let me know if he doesn't stick them in for you already

Got these smoked headlight off Craigslist for $60. The guy who bought them hit a deer, and as he was replacing parts, he didn't realize he ordered smoked and didn't like the look. They are DOT stamped so I'm not worried about them being illegal.

I don't have the funds available to do retro fits, but will probably get the Sylvania Super Brights (or whatever they are called) to install with these. I am a bit concerned about them being too dark, so I don't want to use the existing bulbs I have. Hopefully I can replace these soon.

I replaced my spark plugs today, using the directions on this thread in the Tech forum. Here are my old plugs. They don’t appear to bad, but I did miss the 60k recommendation, pushing just under 70k. I replaced them with Bosch Platinum that are pre-gapped. I haven’t seen too many people talk about them, so I’ll see how the work out. It took me a total of just under 2 hours maybe, some of that time was figureing out what to do, especially on the drivers side where I had to move a lot out of my way. The good news is everything started back up and I didn’t have any left over parts! :D

I just changed mine a little while ago. From what I'm to understand the Platinums don't work so well in these trucks the Denso stock replacements are what are recomended. Hopefully you have good results with them. The Denso's are like $5 each at the dealer did you change the pcv valve while you were doing the driver's side it's right there?

The Densos were expensive at Autozone, so it’s good to know they are actually cheaper at the dealership. If I do get some bad results I can change them out again. Hopefully before it gets too cold. I did drive around the neighborhood for a bit and didn’t notice any change to sound or response to acceleration, but the longevity will be the test.

No didn’t know or think about the PCV valve. Is that something I need to look at too?

Yep and it's under $10 at the dealer as well. It's at the back of the intake on the driver's side

Spent some time this morning cleaning the wheels I bought from another member. I’ve been trying to get these done so I can order some Toyo AT2’s. I’ll probably platidip the wheels black and possible paint the center caps red to match the theme I’ve sort of got going on. I used two cans of Goof Off Pro Stripper, and pressure washed them in between coats. I waited for about 15 minutes after spraying, pressure washed, then did another coat of the stripper and pressure washed again. It didn’t get rid of ALL the old paint, but it got rid of most of it. I think it’s far from good, but good from afar, again sort of like my truck.

    Here’s before:

This is the stripper doing its thing after about 10-15 minutes.

And here are the wheels finished. These are Gear Chrome wheels, and the chrome finish started coming off too. Good thing I’m repainting.

Well it was a LONG time coming, but I finally got the tires. I went back and forth with my friend about which tires to get. A lot of people on here rock the BFGs, and Coopers, and I loved the look of the General Grabbers with the red letters. However I just couldn’t justify the price, and almost all of my driving so far has been on either paved roads or gravel, so I didn’t need too aggressive of a tire, and the cost was a bit much. I went with the Toyo Open Country A/Ts and so far I’m very happy with them. I repainted the wheels I bought from another member on here and I think they look really good mounted up. I also had to get some new lugnuts that were longer to reach the deep wells.

Here are just a few more pictures of my buddy who owns a mobile tire mounting business doing his thing. I couldn’t add the video of him adding in some beads for the balancing, but it was pretty cool to watch. 413E1782-600A-44FF-BECA-65DF3C5BDE30.jpg3E65CA14-2D30-427C-9243-A2C5DD0100AF.jpg1394804D-666D-4D1C-9978-DF10081F8280.jpg

Had a very productive day with @Casper66 adding some custom made rear-light brackets, installing Auxbeam 4" LED Pods 18W, running the wires from the battery to the back and he even hooked me up with a custom relay shelf so I can add additional lights later on.
    :bananadance:

I plan on installing at least four more lights in the front with some great ideas from @Casper66. Thanks Chris! It was fun hanging out.

Drivers side, which is longer because I want to mount a CB antenna right behind it with a quick disconnect. I should point out these were already painted, and use existing hardware, so great investment.

Passenger side. We removed the rear brake lights so we could run the wires and give it a really clean look. The tailgate closed with almost no issue.

@Casper66 down under my truck running the wires, splicing together using heat shrink wrapped butt connectors. I felt privileged to have him helping me, or more accurately doing 90% of the install. :anonymous:

Custom shelf for relays or other wiring stuff.

Top-down view of the finished project. @Casper66 even went the extra mile by using wiring loom (now I know what the hell that is) to give it a very clean install look.

Running the wires for the switch. The wires were spliced to get them through the firewall, and then connected again using the heat shrinked wrapped butt connector and then covered in electrical tape for additional protection.

This is the switch that came with the wiring harness. I originally wanted to replace with a push-button switch that fits the opening, but I accidentally bought a switch that fits on the left side of the steering wheel, but again @Casper66 was able to use what I had and make it look good! If you are looking really close, I am the one that messed up the plastic under the dash when taking the blanks out.

Nice write up Tim! I'm suprised your camera still works after the pics of me. LOL Get your stuff together and we'll knock out the front lights they won't be bad at all. Everything worked out great and I'm glad your happy with them. You ought to get your suspension stuff together also.

My brother-in-law sells it. They don’t offer it in stores, but man is that stuff great. You can google some YouTube videos of the stuff. I’ve used it on so many different things, and he has even used it to clean his guns. If you’re interested send me a PM and I’ll forward to him. He may know a dealer in your area but not sure.
