So im currently driving a 2011 4Runner Trail Edition but ill be trading that in soon and getting a Super White 2014 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4! Here is what im planning on doing to my Tacoma. Let me know what you think and or what you would do differently!

6 Inch Pro Comp Lift Kit w/ es9000 Shocks
    http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kit...ks.aspx?t_c=1&t_s=38&t_pt=3533&t_pn=EXPK5080B

    Adjustable 5100 Bilstein Shocks (Front)
    https://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/mobile/product.asp?itemid=21

    Icon Upper Control Arms
    Alcan Springs
    http://alcanspring.com/

    35 Inch Nitto Trail Grapplers
    http://www.4wheelparts.com/Tires/35...spx?t_c=13&t_s=159&t_pt=10129&t_pn=NIT205-720

    20 Inch XD795 Hoss Wheels
    http://www.4wheelparts.com/Wheels/X...11&t_s=210&t_pt=100106&t_pn=W/PXD79529068312N

What I plan on doing is adjusting those 5100 Bilstein Shocks and setting them at 2" for a total of 8 inches of lift in the front. Then ill have 8 inch custom made leaf springs for the rear. For better control im putting Icon upper control arms on. This is going to run me around $7800 including install. If any of you know of any way to help the cv angles please let me know. But what I plan on doing with those is (if an when they brake) (knock on wood) buying new cvs with a lifetime warranty :D But a guy who was running 9 inches of lift with a drop bracket said his cv's where actually fine.. So I don't know. Let me know what you think!

    3" 35', Icon suspension,It'll be cheaper, it'll perform a hell of a lot better than a 8" lifted truck.

    Your money though.

Lot of trimming for that though but I just want a higher lift you know.. and yeah its gonna cost a arm and a leg but itll be worth it! What do you think about the cv's?? Its only 2 more inches. And from what I know, the 6 inch lift with drop bracket puts them at stock.. so just plus 2 inches. :)

Drop bracket is no bueno especially if you offroad at all. There's a couple guys who did it right but they've got loads of money in there trucks. 5100s and ome coils is definitely a better riding set up or if your a badass like me and cam you run fox ifps

A better question is What do you plan to do with your truck? Will it just be a pavement princess? or will it be wheeling(off-roading)

None taken man. Pretty much a drop bracket with custom length shocks with nice coils like 886s? Maybe someone will correct me on a better spring and custom 6 inch leaf packs. Pretty much just keep the drop bracket itself and everything else is custom. No strut spacers blocks and nonsense like that. I prefer functionality over form and 6 inches just isn't worth the pain. I'm doing 3.25inches and 33s and eventually 35s but I do regularly wheel. It's all in what you do and use your truck for.

    Yes
I have an 8" lift so don't think I'm just bashing your idea just because it is a big lift. ...but if you ever intend to off-road your truck you are really building the lift the wrong way. Between those 5100's and the spacers and the 20" wheels the truck will ride stiff as hell on the road and be useless off-road.

Also - if you do an 8" lift in the front you would only order a 6" leaf pack for the rear because stock the truck sits 2" lower in the front so to end up level the rear should always be 2" less than the front.

The 6" spacers that come with that kit are really really bad and the rear shocks would be nearly useless too if you are going 6" in the rear and they will limit your travel a ton.

Do you intend to off-road at all ?

Yes I do. And about the custom leaf pack. im not using any spacers , its going to be a pure leafs that are lifting the back 8 inches..... so I would only have to order (2) 6 inch leafs? And tell me about your build and how you did it..

Why are you going so high if you plan to wheel? Unless you are talking about just being on a groomed dirt road?

You may like it but your truck won't fit on the trails that you want it to and it certainly won't perform nearly as well as lowered (3") lifted trucks even so..

Its your money but we've seen dudes with 6" say "man i wish i had went with a 3" ect. Your call and your money

Look at spoonmans old build. His truck daisy was baaaaaaadass. But he did 3 inches and 35s and wheeled hard! It was really tall and beastly with just the 35s too. Probably just as much worth of parts as your throwing into your truck. I'd just take a look at the 3inch and 35s thread for big functional trucks

I was on the fence about a 9 inch lift and I'm soooooooooooo glad I decided to get 3 instead because i browsed tacoma world for awhile and decided it wasn't a great idea.
