01 Keyless entry ready?

    01 Limited Double Cab 4x4
    Brush Guard, Flowmaster,Infinity 12" Sub,Vent Visors, Michelin AT2,Powder Coated stock alloy rims, yakima roof rack and bike mounts.
    Do you think my 01 limited double cab is keyless entry ready? I would like to get one and was wondering if anyone knew if it would work out?

    you'll have to look and see if the ecu is installed...it could be in a few different places in an 01...including behind the driver's kick panel or under the drivers door

    I have an '01 Limited DoubleCab 4x4 and mine came w/ keyless entry. You'd think if they are the exact same model it would, but I'm not too sure. Mine has a Toyota Security box thingy underneath where the ashtray is. Does yours?

    I don't think so ...

    Toyota didn't list keyless entry with any factory option package until the 2003 model year (Power Package only). Even then the keyless entry feature wasn't listed as being included with the power doors / locks on the Limited Package.

    2004 was the first year they listed keyless entry being part of the factory Limited Package.

    Prior to that, keyless entry may well have been obtained with port- or dealer-specific 'packages' or 'editions' - but it didn't come from the factory.
