01 light switch ?

    my 01 has a light switch to the left of the steering wheel that doesnt seam to work anything. its afactory switch, the light on the switch comes on when pushed but thats it. had the truck since october and it doesnt appear that the previose owner tinkerd withANYTHING. i would appreciate any info. thanks.

    01 SR: Double Cab conversion, S/C, lowered.
    If the switch is clearly marked as being for lights, it's not a factory / OEM item.

    My guess would be that it's a 4Runner fog lamp switch the previous owner installed to control some lights. The 4Runner switches fit the Taco dash slots and look stock, so they're a favorite switch to use when adding aftermarket lights.

    That's not a stock switch. Probably used to run off-road lights or something. I would get under the dash and follow the wires to see where they go.

    i doo have a bull bar but i dont se anything going to it. i must investigate.

    Damn I definitely thought I was going to be right. x2 on following it to see where it goes, probably use to be some off road lights that got taken off before you bought it

    thought it was a factory switch, looked similar to the switch in my 09. silly me the switch in the 09 doesnt illuminate when its suppose to be on and i bought that new .like i said when i joined up, i like the 01 much better..
