01997 Tacoma SX v6 5sp TVS1320 supercharged 300 HP! Haltech ECU, Reg Cab 800,000 Build

Also got a new hood blanket and cut out the center section for the hood scoop.

 

Replace the complete steering column because the tilting mechanism was worn out and there was 1/2” of play north to south.

 

Got the throttle body bored out by maxbore and a new butterfly.

No gaps alone the walls anymore

 

Added these Honda nozzles last year for a nice spray pattern instead of a jet stream.

They work fantastic, plug and play,

 

i can see the power from here!

I probably should be getting a new one of these as well

this is something I have always pondered about
the difference of petrol grades in the 3.4 .... 87 (10% ethanol) vs. 91
I have always 'thought' my truck moves much smoother with the 91 in it
is it just a 'placebo'
does the ethanol blend gummy up everything leading to more system cleanings and maintenance?

 

Not sure about the ethanol.

The methonal on the other hand raises the octane to 100-110 and cleans the inside of the motor and throttle body.
No gummy stuff.

Here is my throttle body before I had it rebuilt with no carbon and the valves with no carbon.

Methonal removes all that carbon.

 

maybe it was just the ethanol in certain older vehicles that actually had rubber fuel lines lol
my 78 celica and 79 corolla had some rubber hoses with fuel to the carb
bad for the rubber I heard long time ago, but probably am wrong (not an expert)

No, I replaced it for 25.00 from a 2004 tacoma, I like the red color better

 

I liked the pic of that red too, I will just wait until my clock fails and see if the culprit is the solder

... have to figure out something with my seat belts not fully retracting (have to hand feed them back most of the time)
have you had any issues with that? have you found a 'fix'?
I tried to do the hot soapy water fix (I read about on TW) when I recently had my driver seat out, but that might have made it worse!

 

I just buy a new when when its shot.

I think I had checked somewhere and found them to be discontinued
i may have different style with xtracab

 

I just got a new one yesterday under warranty, it has a year warranty and failed, So got a new one.
Some might be discontinued tho

Yup, with subwoofer, only as loud as you turn the volume.

 

John, have you had any issues ever with the Blower Motor & Fan assy?
do you usually drive with fresh air coming in or the recirculated slider position?

I have been having issues with mine for most of this year ... getting sick and tired of it and need it fixed

 

Just the motor and replaced the motor assembly only from salvage yard for 25.00
Bearings went bad

 

what is your air inflow usually set to?

i changed mine to recirc and the flapping noise went away (above 70 mph), I have always had fresh air coming in
either something is stuck inside where the fresh air comes in or the foamy cushioning that has been blowing out of the vents this year needs refurbished and will probably be a major PITA lol
