Springs are a 4" 500 lb. preload spring and a 18" 600 lb. main spring. Valving is a 15 on rebound and a 12 on compression with a thin base shim to stiffen the compression throughout the travel. Most likely very different characteristics than most kits though because it is mounted to the lower arm so much further from the frame than almost all other kits out there. Considering that it is a little more than 7" over per side the leverage on the shock is much different. It could use a slight adjustment to eat up the choppy terrain a little better but I am very happy with how it stays up through the whoops.

Right on you will be stoked with that kit. Just go to the first page and there are plenty of detailed pics of the shock hoops/engine cage

ya the plating is looks sweet. i will be working with all tube then adding guessets. picked up 20 ft of 1-3/4 dom for 46 bucks so i am going to start doing that tomorrow. and have everything else ready to go. had to get new missalignment spacers for the upper heims because they were made for a 15 and the stock bolt is a 14 mm

Haven't updated this thread in a while. Put some new wheels on the truck and it's now under the knife getting a full back half rebuild, a Ford 9" rear end that matches the front track width with 4.56s and a spool, new rear fenders/bedcage, and then an internal cage. Here are some pics.

Not yet. After the cage is done my friend will probably end up fabricating a new spindle and upper arm. This kit has worked out great for me with the bump stops so a new one is at the bottom of the to-do list haha

Hey I got pretty far into your build thread but how did you mount your shell to your fiberglass bedsides?? If you have pics that would be awesome, or is it because the 1st gen tacoma glass mounts to the actual metal bed?

When I mounted my bedsides, I drilled out all the spot welds on the stock bedsides and kept the stock bed rails. Since it still had those rails up top, the camper shell just mounted the exact same way it does on a stock bed. You can slightly see the back clamp in this pic but that's the only pic I have.

My friend absolutely nailed it with the shock mounts. Couldn't be happier with how it is all turning out.

Thanks, I appreciate the answer and your bedcage looks super clean! I wish doing that was an option on my 2nd gen but unfortunately the whole bedside comes off

Damn rear setup is looking sweet!

TIG welded all that i hope...cause that would be insane MIG welding...haha Great work.

@Blackdawg Everything is MIG welded except the weld washers which are TIG. Why do you hope it's all TIG? I'm confused haha
