My bad, I want to put a 2nd gen axle on my first gen to get the shocks and hopefully the springs outside of the frame like this truck.

do a tundra because then your driveshaft will bolt up to the flange of the diff. you'll still rub with 2.5s outside of the frame with a tundy axle. my bypass tubes have see better days...

Hey man if you get a chance could you please take a picture of how you have your shocks mounted to your axle in relation to the spring perches? Did that change from when you just had the Tundra axle? Also would you mind measuring from the outside of one u-bolt plate to the other so I can get an overall width of the kit? I think I'm going to just run smoothies and notch the frame until I lt the front. Then I'll swap out the axle for a fabbed one like yours and get some bypasses. The notches will come in handy like others have said that have been rubbing with a Tundra axle. Thanks again. I'm at the point now where I'm going to start buying stuff for the axle so I want to check once more before I buy anything. Thank you! Have a good day. :)

Hey man, here is a picture of how the shocks are mounted to the axle. Its the only one I could find. I live in San Diego and the truck is in Orange County so I cant get those measurements right now but I should be able to this weekend.

It was definitely worth it. There is no production 9" that is wide enough for my application so it was more of a necessity. Definitely adds up quick though for full Currie internals and 3rd member plus the Wilwoods. I have over $4,000 into this axle and that is with discounts on everything.

Thanks Tyler, I like that setup. I appreciate it.

@FlapJack935 I'm planning on getting a wider housing once I long travel the front too. I probably would only need it for the width and the gears and axles should work for my uses too. I think you can get chromoly shafts for a first gen (custom) non-abs housing cut to any length up to 32-1/8" made by nitro. They could be a cheap alternative to axles for you if you get a wider housing. They're less than $400 a pair. The downside to them I guess is that it might make your third member the weak link in the power delivery to the wheels.

yea we have connections through global offroad and pepe hooks it up for our crawlers. i just dont need the fancy shafts and parts, really only care about the housing and maybe brakes.. but everything else doesnt have to be extreme.
