Sup TW, alright so my taco is a v6 prerunner sr5. I want to put tires and a lift on it even though I don't have 4x4 on it nor a locking rear. Do you guys recommend it or not? If so what tire size and lift should I be looking into getting? Any and all the info will be great. O and sorry if this question has come up crap load of times.

    Allow me.

Mine is a prerunner as well.

    Front suspension....OME 881 coil springs.
    Rear suspension.....OME Dakkar leaf springs.
(Get the extra leaf if you plan on carrying heavy loads).

Shocks.....OME nitrocharger shocks on all 4 corners.

You can go with several different upper control arms. I use "Total Chaos".
But people also use Camburg or Light racing.

You can also go with a billstein 5100 adjustable shock up front for lift with an eibach coil spring. All depends on what you want to do with your truck.

Both lifts will support up to a 285/75/16 tire.

Its over 3 inch in the rear with the extra leaf for the Dakkars. And about 2.75 with the .5 spacers in the front.

Its quality stuff. But not extremely expensive like have king coilovers. Probably my next step....but this lift is just over a year old so it will last a while.

Hey @Matic so I got my 3inch lift kit and I'm getting new tires but keeping the stock rims. Do you if I can go bigger on those rims?

With your 7.5" stock wheels you can certainly go bigger wider over stock sizes if you like! What are you wanting to run? With those wheels you'll run into UCA clearance issues before you end up with too wide of a tire for the wheel fyi...

On an 8" wide wheel a 12.5 wide tire is super common and totally fine to do so a 11.5" tire on your stockers would be doable but, thats where the UCA clearance would come in to play and surly it would rub! New wheels with less back spacing would be needed or get some wheel spacers to space the wheel out a bit more. I personally would go different wheels but tons of people run spacers without issue.

I'm thinking of just getting some 285/75r16 on 16x8 wheels with 4.25 back spacing. Do you know if I'll run into tranny or diff problems in the long run? Or even speedo problems? @bry838

Tranny(manual or auto) or diff? Absolutely not! Tons of guys run 33" tires with stock everything! I personally dont run 33"s without a gear change but its certainly not a complete have to, so to speak. Your speedo will be off but not by much, its not a big deal. Just familiarize yourself with a gps or a road side speed detector with where your real speed is in relation to your speedo, if it really bugs ya.
