Is the bear in properly seated to the spindle? If so you should be good since you’re doing a straight pull

First secure the bearing/hub to the spindle, then you drive the axle through the the bearing/hub, then you torque the axle nut.

Hey guys, I got a question. I'm preparing the front differential for the core exchange with ECGS, and I'm also prepping the brackets and FJ tube for rattle can paint. Do I have the correct part numbers for the seal on the FJ tube? Do I need to replace the metal ring from the FJ tube to the clamshell? If so, what's the part number? Also, does ECGS provide the driver side seal on the differential or do I need to add that seal to my parts order? Thanks.

Bonus pic: The clamshell drain plug was a PITA to remove. I thought I was moving the plug, but instead the socket extension was twisting. I was using a 1/2 drive breaker bar with 3/8 adaptor. I'm glad I stopped before it snapped. I probably would had some busted knuckles punching the garage floor.

Never checked but that ring I thought was a machined surface of the tube. Don’t think it can be replaced. As for the drain plug. Heat is your friend. Weld a nut to it and it’ll zip right off.

Thanks guys. After removing the old FIPG last night, the ring is machined onto the tube.

That ring is a machine part of the tube, I use permatex l”the good stuff” 1 minute sealant and that shit is the best in the game.

A quick update on my 4x4 conversion. I completed the twin stick mod last weekend and I started disassembling the truck as much as I could. I finally managed to drop this jerk face transmission down a few minutes ago. The top two bolts were a PITA. The crossmember was full of dirt, not fun, but I wore safty glasses. The ECGS clamshell with 4.10 gears and Torsen was delivered this past Wednesday. Shipped my core back yesterday. Hopefully, I can replace the rear main seal today. I'll probably work on modding the crossmember next weekend. Any tips how to line up the torque converter and flex plate when I mount the A750F?

Set one of the holes by the starter hole(there should be one there already since you accessed through there when you removed the torque converter) secure one bolt, and pry teeth by teeth till you get the next one. Pretty much removal but in reverse order.

Does anyone have a measurement for their modified driveshaft? I’ve been using angle iron to extend the holes since I did the conversion

You can drill out the rivets for the crossmember that supports the carrier bearing and move it so you can use the stock length rear driveshaft from the 4WD truck. My frame had the holes drilled already and just used nuts/bolts to get the support where it needed to be to use the stock 4WD rear driveshaft.
