    Typical dealer b.s.

He's saying that Toyota didn't think there were that many that had to be bought back. Plain and simple Toyota doesn't want to absorb the cost of buybacks or frame replacements.

Has anyone had a frame replaced that already has a lift and a added spring?? I was wondering if it had any effect on the replacement. My 2005 now has holes the size of a quarter and want to be prepared when I take it to my dealer. P.S. Truck is pristine with 70k except the frame.

I dropped mine off this morning and they agreed the frame was perforated and I'd get a replacement frame. 6-8 weeks and they wouldn't let me take it until the frame come in because it was "unsafe".

I'm in a rav4 right now and they said they'd have me in a truck by the end of the week.

The only thing I was pissed about was that I have the tsb springs, which I paid for, and they told me the could only put in the stock 3 pack springs. So I guess I'm getting back the same sagging springs I paid to replace. It will be interesting what the recall presents for new springs.

Anyone else with tsb springs have issues with getting tsb springs with the frame replacement?

That reminds me of issue that should be noted. Anyone who gets the runaround for not getting parts changed on their vehicle for TSB/SC/recall etc. should ensure that the service slip states that the Leafs and/or other parts they say they will not changed are listed as NOT replaced on your vehicle/repair slip.
Some members are saying they do /did not get all parts listed in the recall (or parts changes as a result of repair issues). This is a great opportunity for less than honorable dealers to pocket the parts and charge others for later sold parts. A few pair of leaf springs re sold at 100% profit is a quick moneymaker (if Toyota paid for the parts that were not installed by the dealer). I'm Not saying all would do this. At least if listed on the service report, the Dealer has to acknowledge what was NOT changed.

For example the leaf spring TSB - some members have said they get new springs, some did not. With the new spring recall if the spring should have been installed and were not - Corp my not include those vehicles in their recall ???

    Or is my data wrong??

I got mine in Indiana today. They are calling it a "Limited Service Campaign" Basically Toyota will inspect the frame. If it's bad, New frame. If it's good, They will put a Corrosion-Resistant Compound(CRC) to key areas.

My truck is in for a new frame now -- I bought new front shocks and springs, the passenger side leveling washer, and a new tow assembly. The new frame will have 4 leafs, so I figure with the bilstein/eibach's in the front it should basically level the truck.

For those of you getting jerked around by your dealership - find a different service rep to work with!!! My guy has taken great care of me. I'll send an update next week when I find out what other repairs I incur (I already know I have an exhaust issue and a bad A/C clutch, probably need a new serpentine belt).
