So I put my '06 up on the rack and took a look. My frame has a little delamination, maybe enough to cover a dollar bill that I scraped off but no holes. Even the mechanic that looked at it with me remarked how good of shape the frame was in for an '06. So I'm not feeling any anxiousness about getting it into Toyota at this point. Think I'll just check it every earl change. I'm afraid if I take it in now they're just going to spray over it and when the recall is over I'm screwed if I get holes. BTW I feel this lack of corrosion is due to underbody car washes religiously applied. If you can find a good car wash that has an underbody strong stream that lasts long enough that you can actually drive the truck forward and backward for a minute or so that could be the difference. I feel fortunate I found such a wash even though it's out of my way to get there. Most car washes do the underbody for about 10 seconds, if they offer it at all, and don't give you time to drive back and forth. That or get under there with a power washer on a regular basis like EVERY time after a snowstorm blows through.

The dealer told me it passed and it would be sprayed. I went home and put a hammer through it then brought it back and my new frame is on its way.

HaHaHa !!! Good for you , now take the hammer to the dealer and fix their attitude . You'd think the idiots would be more careful with this and avoid liability suits later , duh .

I'd TELL the dealer that you want a Toyota Regional Rep to call you and explain why this happened. I'd also Tell the Rep to provide the name of a dealer that "Should" be replacing your frame - after all since they can't tell the difference they may put the old fame back in !!!!

I might still find another dealer. I want to see the list of parts they're replacing first.

If you are in the process of getting a frame inspection or replacement, make sure you have them check the brake lines and make your case about that too.
Toyota replaced my frame about a year ago but didn't do the brake lines.
I went to get it inspected today and it failed because of rusted brake lines.
I don't know if they normally include that or not (sorry, I haven't read everyone's story) but they didn't with mine.
It is going to cost me about $300 to get them fixed now, probably closer to $600 with the other work it needs (LF caliper, etc).
I am almost over this truck.... (and then there's the rear leaf issue)

I'm thinking you might want to contact Toyota Corporate to see if you have any options. I just got my truck back from having its frame replaced last week, and part of the deal was new rear leaf springs and several new brakes lines (whatever is part of the frame replacement kit). Toyota also just issued a separate recall for the leaf springs, so perhaps you might have a play from that angle if they aren't willing to reconsider the details of your frame replacement?

The Limited Service Campaign started in May. If your frame was replaced before the LSC was issued, the brake lines and springs may not have been part of the package. My frame was replaced in June and included new brake lines, rear springs, wiring and lower control arms.

That's just minor surface rust , should just polish right out ...
I need to get mine on a lift and look at it closely .

Has to be a clear hole. They are supposed to punch it but I had to do it myself and take it back before they would approve a replacement.

I'd pull that entire lifted piece of metal off to fully expose the hole underneath. It probably won't take much effort.

Don't make it too big or they may not give you your truck back.
