    They left my leaf packs on and thru the new OEM leafs in the bed for me. Actually was prolly easier for them since the nuts on the U bolts don't look like they were removed, they just swung the whole rear suspension over to the new frame.

    Aaaaaaaaaand the truck is back at the dealership. Picked it up Wednesday, dropped it back off thursday morning. Passenger tire wants to tear the fender off when I turn, driverside outer CV boot ripped and clunking like hell on a left turn, broke 2 of 3 zerks off new u-joints ( they installed) and it pulls hard to the right. The technicians words " this was my first frame job. I had it on the alignment rack 4 times and cannot get it anywhere close. I learned I should do a road test before I start the tear down." Wrong words Freedom Toyota of Hamburg Pa.

    My truck went into the shop on Thursday for the swap. Dealership is replacing the front coil-overs for $226.00 I asked about doing the rear shocks as well, but the quoted me a price of $320.00 for the rear shocks - that was just the parts cost. I told them I could get the shocks at a much better price and asked about them installing parts that I purchased. The dealership said they would not install parts not obtained from them. So, I'll just swap them out when I get my truck back.

    So all in all the frame job cost Toyota just shy of $13000 on my 10 year old truck. And I got a new driver side cv axle out of the deal. After all my bitching it seems to have come out ok. Now I just need to do some more front fender trimming, knocking and cutting.

    Have a new 2015. Is frame rust still an issue to watch out for in the future , was anything done by toyota to eliminate the problem.
    Had it krown'd day 1 and will be doing it yearly as my preffered method of rustproofing.

    Guys, make sure you take pictures before sendng the truck in for the frame replacement. Document everything. I just uncovered that my driverside axle was 3/4" further front than the passenger side. Here is why.

    I agree that the spring to axle mount shows rust - but it looks like the spring's locator pin either slipped out of the hole, or was incorrectly installed in the first place. IS that what you mean???
