I have a 07 sportsman efi that I plow with. Last Saturday it died 3 times but started right up. Plowed with it for 10 minutes then the RPM's went crazy high in 3800 rpms when it was in park.

I shut it off and turned it back on ran fine for 30 minutes while I finished plowing????

Anyone have a clue. Its been doing this on and off for a 1-1/2 now dealer cant figure it out?

    Thanks for any help

    Rick

If I Didn't know better it sounds like the throttle body is icing up. You let it sit for a few min and the ice melts and it runs fine. Not very familure with atv systems but if you can't find the issue ,when it happens again, get to the throttle body and look for moisture or frost in the bore. Or a intermittent throttle sensor.
    That's all I got...

I am curious to see what caused this. I have the same year machine but have not experienced this problem. I have had some issues with the stator that caused idling problems, but it was more of a problem with the machine shutting off not revving.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Had the same issue on my sister's 05 Polaris. Apparently Polaris isn't too good with their harnesses. I think it's a common problem

Update. Week 4 and still haven't heard from dealer. Going to call him end of week and tell him ill pic the machine up and bring it somewhere else.

What is fair to pay him since he didn't fix it? I am thinking 1/2 his labor? I want to be fair but I am not getting anything out of this but loss of cash?
