First off, I heard that the H10 fog lights can be replaced with a H7. Another problem I have is: When I isnatlled my 3 inch lift, I went for a alignment but noticed my truck is leaning 1/2". Coil is sitting properly and the same side leaf spring is in the dowel and torqued. It is brand new 3 weeks and was level before lift. Any ideas?

    Geez, where to start :)

I started looking into HID lights but sounds like you really need to know what you are doing..

A little more performance would be nice, but seems most items are for up top power, ie 3500+rpm

Anyone have suggestions for good Mud tires? not Mud and Snow, as i will be getting winter tires anyways.

And gadgets are always nice, all i have so far is the scan gauge..

I'm open to suggestions for anything.

TacomaB. Try taking measurements on your truck on LEVEL ground. Take measurements at all four wheel. This will help you narrow the 1/2" lean down to one corner instead of one side.

But... all in all, 1/2" off is not that bad. 1/2" sucks if your truck was 3" off the ground, but 1/2" is not much when it comes to a tacoma.

Oh... and another question is, when I took my truck in to change the tires... and it took a very long time to balance the wheels. I had to come back again and fine tune them because of a shimmy. The guys at the tire shop told me toyota rims are very hard to balance because of over sized hubs that will not fit the rotary balancer adaptors properly.. Is this guy pulling my leg? Question 2: Has anybody heard of Nokya light bulbs and if they are comparable to piaa's, etc... Question 3: Do you know a general way of aiming your headlights without taking in to shop? I know how to move them, just not sure where to aim them--after liftkit, tires, and HID Kit... Question 4: When I reach speeds of 75 mph + or when i am into a wind, there is something vibrating in the hood that makes a squeeling noise. I reinforced the bug deflector and still it is there?

Chech the tires and wheels threads for an explaination about hubcentric and lugcentric balancing, that will answer your wheel question.

Question 4: this can be fixed by going into your dealership and complaining, it is the weatherstripping used on the front window. Search the 2nd GEN Tacoma threads for more info.

    Cant answer the others sorry.

Question2: Stay away from the nokya bulbs. A few members in my car club had some problems with them. If you want bright, upgrade to an HID kit. They run at at 35w instead of the standard 55w. For maximum light out put I would get a 4300K kit which is OEM lighting for BMWs, Lexus, etc. The only reason you see the blue hue is due to the projector lens.

one or two of the toyota aluminum rims do have oversized hubs, compared to most rims out there and they are harder to get centered right on the wheel balancer because most of the cones that come with the balancers are not big enough.

i had the same problem on a set of rims on a Sequoia at the shop i work at.

once you figure out the the mounting problem it goes pretty easy. but it does take time

Hey Reid, Thanx for the info on the weather stripping.. It took two visits and three road tests before the toyota techs would beleive me. I told them about what you thought it probably is, and they responded "It doesn't sound like it is comming from that area." They finally sent me over the window shop and replaced the weather stripping.. Took it for a drive and there was no more noise. Good Job Reid!!

No problem, I cant take credit though I had the same problem on my truck and found the answer here a couple of months ago. If you have any other problems in the future and want quick answers check the TSB thread. It lists problems that the dealers will fix for free.
