    Hello taco gurus!

I have a 07 taco that I bought with a aftermarket security system from the dealership. I think I've read somewhere that the one that I have is fairly common for Toyota dealers to put on. I will attach pictures of what's underneath my dash.

15892955094795827109151617230523.jpg I'm just not sure what brand it is or how to reprogram a replacement fob to it. If any of you guys have any helpful tricks or tips I would be ever grateful.

    Stay safe out there guys!

I have no idea if this will work for you, but in my 05 with the factory security system I used this to re-program a new FOB -- steps are in the link: https://www.keylessremotewarehouse....ar_key_fob_control_pre_owned_138po_c_p678.htm.

Here's another link with I think the same info, but you could verify if the above doesn't work: https://northcoastkeyless.com/2005-toyota-tacoma-keyless-entry-remote-programming-instructions/

Additional info that might be worth reading in here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/disable-keyless-entry-beep-05-10-write-up.258044/

Ya gotta find out what kind it is in order to find the right fob. Or, alternatively, take it out and use the original style.

The control module is probably tucked up above the parking brake pedal. It will usually have all the details molded into the housing.

My 2015 (I'm the 2nd owner) had a KARR alarm added by the selling dealer, a POS alarm mainly there for one-fob opening convenience of the salespeople, subsidized by customers who way overpay for the alarm.

It's usually quite difficult to find documentation for car alarms -- that's intentional, of course. Once in a while someone will post something interesting on the 'net, but wiring diagrams are really rare in a public forum. HERE is some stuff on one of the KARR models.

Your switch looks similar to the valet override button on my old KARR alarm.

Here's what that underdash switch looked like after the "deactivation" plug was put in by the dealer, and before I took the whole thing out.

Here's the control module, barely visible by tracing all the taps in the original harness.
