I bought the truck new in 08 and I can't believe Toyota totally messed the rear suspension up. The travel is just not there. I would like to get new springs and would like advice from you guys. The truck will bottom out with no load in the bed, with a load all the time WTF!!!!!!. I tow and haul things on a regular basis. I have replaced the rear shocks already as the factory ones started leaking at about 45000 miles. I also believe that the left rear spring Has been compromised. Honestly I have been a Toyota owner for about 20 years and love every one I have owned but I would not have bought this truck if I knew then what I know now. Thanks for the help.

You would have bought a completely different truck because of the bottoming out issue? An issue that can be fixed very reasonably and fairly simply, through a variety of methods, including a free fix from the dealer? Doesn't that seem a little rash?

In my defense I last had a 93 toyota truck and that thing was great. You could put anything you could fit in the back of that thing and it would haul it. The clutch was great, engine was just right. So I just bought an 08 thinking I would get the same. The throw out bearing is always squeaking, the fly wheel is way to heavy, the rear shocks were leaking at 45k, weak rear suspend. Driving me nuts, and Im lucky to get 18 miles to the gallon with conservative driving. I do like the truck despite it's flaws but its just thoughs major things that Toyota should have gotten right. I think they got careless and tried to cut corners that is all. I plan on keeping it till it don't run and I do not know anything about the dealer fixing the problem with the rear suspension?! It has 50k now. Thank you guys for the help.
