Hi guys, I bought a 2008 Toyota Tacoma Sport around a month ago and I notice that the cruise control wont engage at all. I also notice that my third brake light wasn't working. I just replaced today the 3 burnout bulbs for led ones and the third brake light now works fine. Could it be possible that I have a bad switch or should I disconnect the battery to see if the computer reset the cruise control switch? Any ideas?

Since the Cruise Control doesn't work I would suspect the brake pedal switch.

Sorry, I was busy to respond by I did check the switch and it looks good, no visible cracks nor broken. Before I just order a new one I want to do a little bit more of research. I heard if the switch is broken lights will lit or not work at all. My works fine. I saw a video post that sometimes when you press the switch to activate the cruise control and don't use it eventually will damage the switch and the on/off switch will fail. I also found this underneath my dash and I have no idea what it is.

If it were the brake switch, I would think that the brake lights would always be on unless it's double pole. On my old GMs, the switches on the steering column used to fail often. They were easy to change, yank it out and fish a wire with 2 contacts on it.

Thanks, I was thinking on doing this first... the on/off switch doesn't feel smooth, it is really hard when you pressed and depressed.
