So I have removed the wheels a few times over the years but for some reason "none" of my sockets seem to fit the lug nuts anymore. I know these have a chrome shell over the actual nut itself. 21mm is too tight and 22mm is too loose. I see they do have something called a flip socket 21-21.5MM, is this what I need to get these lugs loose with a breaker bar? BTW, NTB finally succeeded in warping my front rotors from improper torque pattern.

And you will likely be MUCH happier with a 6 point socket...

My 21mm and 22mm are 6 point. I swear guys, 21 is too tight unless beat on and 22mm is slightly loose.

I have since ordered myself in a dual flip sided 21/21.5mm socket designed to remove chrome capped lug nuts like these. I will report how it fits when it comes in.

Weird. 21mm fits mine like a glove.

    Must be the socket.

I know it is weird because I used to be able to remove them fine with a 21 MM. I have read where some chrome caps seem to swell over time so that must be what has happened to mine. It is just a piece of stamped steel chrome plated and squeezed into shape around the lug nut. Must be a common thing to happen if they make a socket for that very reason.

The tire guys ruined most of my lug nuts. The chrome plated cover is thin-walled and is easy to warp.
Get new lug nuts, and keep extras on hand when the next guy ruins yours with his air hammer.
I had to hammer on the 21mm 6 point socket to get the ruined ones off. Get a 6 point socket and breaker bar, and keep it in your truck.
And those air hammers warp your rotors when they torque your lug nuts to 400 ftlbs. Make sure they hand tighten with a torque wrench, or start video taping them for your evidence.

    Yes sir
If your just getting rotations done at this NTB place, I'd suggest starting to do it yourself. It takes like 30-40 minutes and is one of the easiest things to do yourself next to changing the oil. Lug nuts are torqued to 85 foot lbs and you should check them again after a few days of driving. Jack points are in the manual or you can find a bunch of threads on here with pictures and stuff.

But again, as said it's 21mm's and your nuts are swollen, have you tried a bag of ice? :D

I just went to use my lug wrench that came with the truck and it doesn't fit. Tried my other sockets and none fit. Wtf.

    Odd. Are they OEM lugs?

What size socket are you using?

Mine were starting to get goofy my 21 would fit some but not others with out a hammer. Soon won't have that problem. I'm changing from sport 17" alloys to 16" pro comp series 87s soon so I ordered new acorn type Lugnuts. I got them from wheelers offroad 24 for 36.xx I think.
