I have a 1999 2.7 4cyl with 210,000 on it I love it. I thinking about buying a 09 used with 16,00. Are the new generations as good as the first?

Welcome to TW. IMO the first gens are built a little better, but the second gens are a little nicer. Either way you get a good truck.

I say go for it, I agree with the comments above but that doesn't mean that the 2nd gen are not any good, specially engine wise. The 2.7L on the 2nd gen is still pretty much bullet proof, I rarely see anyone posting an issue here with their 2.7L engine.
