09 backup camera with aftermarket HU?

    there are video distro blocks that are powered. so you could tap into the line else were (before it gets into the headliner), put in the powered distro block, and then have 2 feeds, one for the rear view and 1 for the HU and tada.. no loss of brightness :)

    i'm assuming the feed is going up one of the A Pillars so somewhere in the kick, you can do the split

    Has anyone found where else? I dont think their is any point in me running up the A piller for a wire that has to be lower. Any luck on a 2009 FSM or electrical digram.

    thats a good idea however i think for the cost and the hassle it would be easier to install a license plate rear camera, this way you could have 2 different perspectives out the rear.

    I want to figure out how to do the opposite of this. I want to have a video selector and use the screen as a display for something other than the rear view camera. ie. iPod display

    You would have to send an additional power source or trigger existing power to the screen in the mirror. Then you would have to send the video feed to the mirror from one of the factory connectors. I am sure a simple splice would work, but a video distribution box may be desired.
