I think many dealerships are gonna screw people regardless of stinkmaking. They've been around since cars were invented, and they've been reviled since cars were invented.

They are showcasing the mud on my truck as a basis of warranty coverage denial. It is it too muddy? I mean come on. Axles actually look pretty clean. This is normal off pavement driving.

Good for you, i love how Facebook can give people such a public way to say FU.. haha. This is a perfect situation for it. Hope your fight really starts to turn around now.

And about your picture, thats crazy. Do you have any more? It does not look bad at all..

This sounds to me like the typical dealer BS. I doubt they had any communication with Toyota corporate when they denied you. They just say that to try to scare you away. If you contacted corporate, i have a feeling this will turn around soon. Dealers do this shit all the time and its all lies.

Exactly, this is exactly what I was thinking. In fact, id put money on it. To the O.P, when you talk to Toyota again, find out who the dealer contacted about having the work covered. The dealer is simply trying to make an easy 2500 dollars.

I commented on the fb post.

"If the dealer & Toyota won't play ball. Get the local news involved. I know here in Atlanta some of our stations have consumer reporters that go after shady companies & companies not backing their warranties. Or skip the dealer & ask to talk to the Toyota area rep."

I would take pictures of the farm road & present them to the area rep for Toyota. Call the Toyota 1800 number & ask for a meeting with the area rep. Heck that dealer may not have even talked to Toyota. They could be bsing you into thinking it was denied. So they can make large sums of $$$ from you.

Simplest solution: Get the truck clean or explain very succinctly that had you gotten to a car wash, their entire argument would be gone. Make them prove why they are denying the warranty claim. It's absurd to think they would honestly be arguing "because it's dirty, it could have been misused" - that's like saying "because you have fingers, you could have stuck your fingers in the cookie jar"

So before I bring my truck to the dealership on the flatbed tow truck stop at the car wash and have it detailed before warranty work can be done.
