Nice! That'll be a great rig for them!
The header and exhaust sounds really nice. Some think it's too loud but I like them that way.
I can't wait to wire my camera into the touchscreen. It would come in real handy for parking!

What sold me on the header were the remarks that it adds about 10% more horsepower by reducing exhaust backpressure, which should reduce downshifting on our mountain passes. 40% greater cross-section area in the primaries is a great improvement!

I did a lot of mods all at once so I can't say how much of it was the header. I can say it definately had a big part in it though...

Thanks to the guys over at Retro Rides Bend, OR (Eric-owner, Max-upholstery). Here's a little sneak Peek of phase 1.IMG952891.jpg

Got a little more done today. I still need to sound deaden the doors and get the speakers in them, do the bucket seat swap with center console. Going to re upholster the seats 1st...20230609_175147.jpg 20230609_175238.jpg
I mounted the 10" JL sub behind the pass seat (tons of room), mounted the JL sub amp on a board I made and they're wired and ready to rock...

Holy SH!T that makes a difference!!!

I came across an ad for one of these and remembered LC Engineering sells them. Went online and bought it.
Makes my truck snappy and quick. With all the mods I've done, this truck rips!
    Can't wait for a Supercharger...(LC Engineering???)20230614_185124.jpg 20230614_185148.jpg

I left off saying something about a supercharger...?
Well, I got one. It's not from LCE but rather URD. I saw a few videos on a truck that has the Underdog Racing Development supercharger kit on it. Seemed like a really well engineered and thought out kit. They were sold out for a while but finally had some in stock. Here's a link. Videos are towards the bottom of the page.

    https://urdusa.com/urd-mk3-supercharger-kit-for-05-15-tacoma-2-7l-2tr-fe-4-cylinder/

I'm very excited to get this on my truck. A few things to do 1st. My truck has 213,000+ on it and goes up daily. It doesn't make any noises, doesn't leak or burn anything either. It seems like it was maintained properly. I was advised by URD to do a couple of things.
    1. Compression check, just to make sure it's ok.
    2. Replace the timing chain/belt. I don't know if it's ever been done. Better to be safe than sorry.
    3. Send my injectors off to get cleaned/rebuilt or get new OEM ones.

Thanks to Eric, owner of Retro Rides, the Tacoma well be stopping the way a supercharged truck should.20230807_172838.jpg They installed the XAT Racing big brake kit. Looks awesome behind the 19's!080723083895HDR.jpg 20230807_164607.jpg

This looks so good so far! I'm planning on taking mine in a similar direction - relining the roof and the door panels has me inspired!

It's truly a dream coming true! You should start a thread on yours. It's a lot of fun really. Do an introduction one about yourself as well. Post good relevant pictures too. I'd subscribe.

20250221_074744.jpg Its been a while since I posted any updates.
The truck now has a supercharger!
URD makes an awesome kit! It has made this truck such a blast to drive! Better gas mileage too. The fit and finish looks great under the hood and the massive intercooler looks bad ass behind the grill.
Big thanks the Eric and his crew @ Retro Rides in Bend, OR.

Any pictures of the front end? Also do you know how much work it would be to remove and reinstall? I've would like to get one but I also have to pass smog every other year.

Next on the list is bumping up to stage II.
That is a smaller pulley for the supercharger to increase boost and then a power pipe (basically deleting the cats). We don't have to smog our vehicles here in Bend.
I will get set up with a local tuner to dial it all in once these are installed. Super excited!

It would be quite a bit of work to remove and re install every year. You can keep your old belt and bypass the supercharger to pass testing. URD has it set up with a piggyback computer. I'd look at their website to get more info on weather it'll pass emmision testing.

Unfortunately I'd have to completely remove the S/C and piping and put the stock airbox parts back to pass. I would immediately fail the visual portion otherwise. I'm not adverse to doing it, I swap over my intake and headers every other year on my other car to pass and have access to a lift to do it. Obviously this is more involved than that. I'll have to check with URD, or at least get hold of the install instructions.

If you have a straight on shot that shows the intercooler that would be great. I run a billet grill so you can see through it a lot more than stock.
