0W-20 in a 1GR-FE?

i'm doing 5-30 Mobil 1 Syn this weekend, first time.

After reading Chris's post where he tore down all the different filters, I guess I'll be going to the dealership tonight to get a filter - no more napa filters for me. I always thought they were decent too

Just curious, but how long are people going on synthetic before changing the oil?? I've been doing 5k on the dino stuff, but the whole idea for me on going to syn is longer intervals.... I was planning on 10k changes, oil and filter.

I guess I need to check the oil this first round every so often?

 

2010 and up got roller rockers, so the 20 weight might be more applicable to those, despite a TSB stating all versions can use it.

I would run 20 weight in winter only, that's me.
