Ok I just wanted to give a quick review/rant.

I've had my '15 for one month and 2000 miles and here are my main disappointments:
    • The truck sounds like an electric weed whacker.
    • The auto lock after remote unlock is way too quick.
    • My driver's seat sucks...it's not very comfortable to begin with and I'm pretty sure a spring is broken in it already because it feels funny. No clue why...I'm 180 pounds.
    • My windshield wipers are malfunctioning. I'm going to get it checked at first oil change, but when the wiper comes down while on intermittent the wipers bounces back up a few inches.
    • The tailgate is weaker than the one on my side by side.
    • No rear defrost.
    • Touchscreen is way too small for my big fingers.
    • Here's the big one....MAJOR lack of power since I put on 285/75/16. The truck barely gets up and goes and I pretty much can't use cruise control (which I like) because it downshifts constantly pretty much anytime you're not going downhill.

The good is that I sure like the way it looks...I've got a lot of compliments on that, but I'm not loving driving it everyday.

Did you test drive it before you bought it?

The truck does look nice. I have the same issues with the tailgate. It feels thin and flimsy. Im afraid to even sit on it. The stereo sounds terrible. Sounds like an old transitor radio. Over all the truck feels cheaply made. Not the rugged feel i expected snd the price was quite high. Still so far i love it after about 6 months. Just hope the durability is there in the long run

Sounds like you might be in th market for another truck.

But like someone above said did you test drive the truck before you bought it?

This needs to be on the 3rd Gen forum. That seems to be the Toyota bashing thread. o_O:anonymous:

    Yes I test drove it.
If you reread the points, you will see about half of them would not have been identifiable during a test drive...particularly a typical test drive of about 5 miles on one road while the salesman won't shut up.
Yes, I may be in the market for a new truck. I have two other cars that I can drive, but I did think this was going to be my go to daily. It will probably just turn into my hunting/fishing/winter vehicle.

i don't know what the complaints about the tailgate are. i had a 300lb man on mine while walking a sportbike off the back (before modifying the tailgate at all). i held my breath but nothing happened

I wouldn't call this is a bash. It's a review. Is anything I'm saying unwarranted/false? That's the kind of feedback I was hoping for, but that's probably wishful on the interweb.

Good point. It probably has sufficient capacity, but it sure doesn't feel like it and, like you said, I hold my breath everytime there's more than 50 pounds sitting on it.

Yeah there's a few you wouldn't be able to identify.

You could always put an aftermarket head unit in there.
For power you could always drop a supercharger in there.

If I had a 2013 WRX sitting next to this in my garage, there is no way in hell I'd drive the Tacoma daily.

So before signing you didn't look at the control panel for the defrost or ask the salesman, you didn't try the radio, you didn't look at the tailgate, and you didn't notice that it sounds like a weed whacker? Those sound like simple homework questions. You can change them out and put after market parts in there, but the majority of the bullet points sound like questions which would be answered while test driving.

Lol. It's a track queen and it's fun as hell to bang through the gears, but it's a bitch in Pittsburgh stop and go traffic with a super stiff clutch and it smells pretty bad with no cats. That and the speeding tickets!

It was a bash, just like all the other 'reviews' are all called bashing. I'm not saying that you were bashing, I was only trying to point out how some people get Butt-hurt anytime someone reports that there are things they don't like about there truck. And it seems like everyone is seriously hating on the 2016s.

I will likely do an exhaust, so that's an easy fix.
I didn't even know they made vehicles anymore without rear defrost, so no I didn't ask or look.
The tailgate is the least of my concerns, but it's puniness is noteworthy.
No I did not try the radio at speed which is when the smallness of buttons is most noticeable.

    Cool, I haven't once clicked on the '16 forum because, well, I don't have a '16.
But, all cars have flaws, like people, and these are the ones I've identified/bashed/etc.

Auto lock is kinda annoying. you get used to it.
i assume you did not get the TRD seats? Mine are comfy
windshield wiper - take it to toyota
tailgate - it's a bit thin but can easily handle a couple hundred pounds on it
rear defrost - for what? I'm pissed it doesnt have mirror defrost but i will be adding that
touchscreen - bleh, should have gone for the bigger screen
power - you bought tires that weigh nearly 20# more than stock, what were you expecting. i bet it would still blow a 1st gen tacoma away. Buy the proper gears or add some power. Mine does just fine stock, and pulling a 4k trailer loaded full of people.
