my god, you mean every tacoma on the road is running time bomb! Jesus my 2015 could explode at any moment???? Oh god!!! ITS RAINING, MY FRAME IS GOING TO RUST IMMEDIATELY? ??!!!! OH NOES MY SHITTY LEAF SPRINGS MIGHT BREAK IF I OVERLOAD THEM TO MUCH AND PUNCTURE THE GAS TANK. Oh wait, Toyota fixed all of that and sent out recall notices to those that might have the issue and FIXED it in the new truck. Frame rust? You get a new frame. Leaf problems? New clamp to prevent puncturing gas tank. You act like a child expecting Toyota to immediately jump on every little problem a minority of owners has with their trucks. Guess what, rusty frames are seen on this truck often because TW is probably about 10% of the population of Tacoma owners, and only the people with problems usually come here to bitch about it and look for a fix.

When I left for work this morning, I really liked my Tacoma. Then I came home, sat down and read this thread. Now I'm just not sure any more. Seems like there's a lot of whiney-ass little bee-och's and even more fanboys who own 'em. I might have to trade mine in on a Honda Ridgeline now....

Having a shortbed would be my only complaint. I've never heard anyone complain about not having a rear defroster on a pick up truck.

A lot. Check out my build page.
My feelings on the feedback you gave....

Issue 1 - Agreed. I upgraded to the TRD cat back exhaust. Much better sounding now.
Issue 2 - Not sure what that even means.
Issue 3 - Yes and yes. The seats and the seating position in the Tacoma is a common complaint. I agree 100% on this one. The seating design was not well thought out by Toyota. Looks like that was NOT addressed in the 2016 so don't feel like you are missing out there.
Issue 4 - The blades may be dry. I immediately switched to Michelin high end wipers as soon as I got my truck. No issues with the upgraded blades.
Issue 5 - Disagree. Feels flimsy but isn't really. It isn't a super duty truck so don't expect huge burly tailgate. It works for the size of the truck. Now I wish it had the lower assist shock on it like the Tundra so it let down easy and was easier to close. No aftermarket solution for this either.
Issue 6 - YES. Lack of rear defrost was a major oversight.
Issue 7 - You'll find as time passes you dislike the Entune system more and more every day. I will be getting a much better after market head unit soon. The speakers also BLOW. Upgraded mine to Focal components up front, 10" sub in the back. Will upgrade the rear speakers soon and again....get a much better head unit.
Issue 8 - The auto tranny on these seems to have very strange shift points and it is FAR from consistent. I haven't upgraded tires or suspension yet (soon) so hoping my experience is different.

At any rate.....even with the flaws this truck has.....gotta still say I would rather drive this than any other POS mid size truck on the market today! Love the truck. Knew I would have to upgrade some stuff to make it what I wanted and I've been doing that slowly over time. It shall be the way I want soon.

    Welcome to Taco ownership BTW.
