if you buy some wet okoles, itll not only protect your seats, but itll make them comfortable.

I forgot how uncomfortable the seats were on these trucks until i took them off..

i'm pretty sure a lot of trucks don't come with rear defrost, because they don't tend to get a lot of build up there? this is my first truck, but i used to work at a shop with a bunch of trucks and i don't remember having to brush snow or frost off the back windshields last year

    Taco no lettuce please

    1. I have a new 15 and it sounds great. Runs quiet for a truck. The only time the engine is overly loud is when it is started and that only lasts about 15 seconds. Patience is a virtue.

    2. Cry moar.

    3. I have lower back problems for the last 5 years and it is very sensitive if I sit too long. I hated my last vehicle and was blown away how comfortable my Tacoma is. I crank the lumbar all the way up and I no longer have to carry a memory foam cushion with me in my vehicle. The seats are fantastic. I weigh 162. Do you have the TRD seats? That might be why.

    4. Then go get it fixed. Not an issue. That is what a warranty is for.

    5. I have had numerous heavy objects including crazy large heavy furniture supported by my tailgate. It is totally fine.

    6. Move to the south or see post number 2.

    7. Sounds like a personal problem. Not the truck.

    8. Reset your ECU so the truck can relearn everything (disconnect battery for a few min). I have never understood putting big tires on these anyway. The truck doesn't have a large enough footprint for your 180 pound body? Let me guess. You lifted too?

There are vendors here who have easy fixes for the tailgate.
    Thanks for your review otherwise.
Are you going to keep your truck?

It just sounds like all of these are an easy fix, and noticeable if you paid attention before signing on the dotted line. Next time let the salesman blab, tune him out, take your time driving and looking it over, and focus on what you're dropping a shiny penny on before you buy it

My 2013 has no slider window in it and there is no reason i shouldn't have a rear defroster!!!!!

I assume he is talking about the issue with the oil pump, I've heard of a few 2015's with this issue

It was for my buddy's brother, talked to him last Saturday and it was the oil pump. Noise went away when the dealership replaced it

    - My truck sounds the same way. Initially, it bugged me, but I got used to it.

    - I agree on the auto lock timing. It can be annoying, especially if you unlock and grab something to put in the vehicle and it locks on you just as you touch the handle. That's happened to me many times. I've become accustomed to opening the door first.

    - I can't comment on the uncomfortable seat. Seat pad maybe?

    - I've owned a few Toyotas and they've all done that wiper thing. Maybe the dealer has an answer?

    - Tailgates are notoriously weak on the second gens. There are some reinforcement plates for sale from a number of TW members.

    - Do you need a rear defrost? I don't think my rear window has ever fogged in the two years I've owned the truck.

    - Aftermarket head unit? Touch screen head units are junk in my opinion. Zee Germans got it right with the wheel on the console.

    - This one is a self inflicted wound. You can't increase the tire size and not expect some power/torque loss. Either regear, add a S/C, lose the tires, or get used to it. My 265/75s gave me some loss, but after a year, I don't notice it.

all of these are at least fairly legit with the exception of the tires thing. regear or put 265s on and you'll be back to normal. as for the sound of the motor, get a nice catback or new muffler.

With this many issues it would be fairly expensive to correct them to your satisfaction.

With the excellent resale value of Tacomas you could sell it with very little loss and replace it with a truck better suited to your requirements.

    Hope it all works out.

Over the years I've had two Dakotas, three Rams and an F-150 and none of them ever had a rear defroster and I never needed one...I do wish I had heated side mirrors though.

I'm like the OP, there's a lot of features that I took for granted in my old truck that I figured there'd be in a 2015 that I didn't notice till AFTER I bought my truck. My truck is quite, it has plenty of power. My big question is, how come I don't have auto locking doors in my 2015 TRD off road? That is something I wish I had?
