So its been a little over a month since i started working out again (see thread) I am following what BigLuke (thank you!) said on page 3 of the thread. I started out at 172 ( i said 160 on thread but after really weighing myself...170) i now weigh 164... sounds crappy for a month but i am starting to see improvment. I hated how my gut was starting to hide my belt buckle. that is now 90% gone. I run about 1.5 miles every day on the treadmill. at first, i only made it 4 mins and about passed out. now, i run the whole 1.5 in a little over 8 mins. my breathing is alot more controlled. Ive been drinking this protein supplement called whey protein by body fortress. it has def. helped a lot! i feel more bulked up than i have ever been. im starting to see the outlines of my abs and other various muscles in the upper chest and back areas. i have also noticed that my back and knees dont hurt nearly as bad (a big plus!). It has been tough though. I will have some tasty looking treat in my hand and have to tell myself no. i dont eat fast food that much anymore. MAYBE...maybe! 1 time a week and that is rare. the only pop i drink is sprite or anything caffeine free. I do treat myself every so often if i have had a good week and get myself a dr. pepper or something. regular ice cream has been substituted for yogurt ice cream. being on the protein stuff, i have been drinking about a gallon of water a day. all in all... im very pleased how far i have come. im gonna keep at it and update a little farther!

    thanks for the support everyone!

Yeah, that is allot! Great job man! Now the hardest part begins...you have to keep yourself from falling back on old habits. It's easier to keep working out everyday than to stop and try to start again a couple of months later...

    Great work man!!

Isn't muscle heavier than fat? If so, you may be losing inches but not too much weight (although 8 lbs in one month is great).

    Cheers.

You got that right. The most valuable effect of supplements is they encourage you to keep you in the gym

great job. like you said, your are able to control your breathing. Keep at it. Your body is like an instrument, you need to keep it in tune. Here's to the next 8 lbs. & the next & the next... :proposetoast:

I tried losing some weight this summer, I just got rid of some gut and put on some muscle mass.
