Why make a thread asking for people's opinion if you're just going to get angry and insult them because their opinion doesn't agree with yours?

I'd still drive a 2012 any day, it's goin to be a great truck, and if you like it then you made a great decision. No need to bash mine though

I waited for the 2012's to show up at my work before I made the call and personally I like the 2011 better. I don't think the 2012 will be a problem or anything since barly anything changed other than the secondary air injection on the 4.0L and the interior/front-end. The front end looks to bubbly for me and the price jump was stupid. Thats my opinion though, I've drove both before I bought my 11.

Only if my 2011 had the color matching front end as the 2012 does then i wouldn't need to paint mine.

I believe there is a "yellow wire mod" or something of that sort so you can use the locker whenever. I don't know if it's compatible with 2012s or not though. Don't know how to help you with the traction control. You can probably just trim your mud flaps a few inches and you'd be set

Funny someone mentioned the price increase. I actually got my 2012 for less than the 2011 I was looking at a few months ago. I think it had to do with the situation in Japan more than anything. And it's cool if you guys hate on my truck, the ladies love it and it looks damn fine when its dirty.

I work at a dealership and they just have me pay cost and to get the exact truck I got but 12 instead of 11 the cost is higher, the base truck itself went up a couple hundred and the TRD package went up about 1k. That's not exactly a reason by itself to not get one though, whats $1k if your already buying a $30k truck lol Just me personally, its gonna take the front end a little while to grow on me. I don't think it looks bad though, just not my taste, just like I prefer my taco over a tundra. I just wish they would've done something to the back end, it doesn't match the front anymore to me.

Sorry if you misunderstood, but, my OP was asking about prices...not who liked 2012 and who didn't. But that's fine that people are chiming in with the opinions...but it was not what I was asking.

My statement about the color of your truck was to make a point that it shouldn't matter what other people think. I do not care who likes the 12...just want to know what they are hearing about the prices being quoted.

    Thanks

I paid just under 34K for the 2012 DC TRD 4.0Lv6 w/MT. The truck itself was 31K flat out, $1000 state tax 2000+ for 6 year platinum coverage.

Good lord, I paid around 28,500 out the door for a brand new 2010 TRD OR AC. And that's with NYS taxes, which ain't low.

OP, minus your insults on your soon to be family here at TW here is my 2 cents. Colors are colors get the one that you like...you don't have to go calling someone elses choice feminine unless you want a kick in the nuts ;).

I am glad on the other hand you chose the '12. The interior refresher is a nice change of pace. If you like the new front end all the better. When it comes down to pricing and what you were quoted without one on the lot makes it hard to say what deals you could have gotten. Furthermore, I think if you would do some research in your surrounding area and try to get two dealers in a war with each other on who wants your business you would come out with a better deal. Find the best deal and try and get another dealer to beat it. Would I pay money over invoice to own that hot new '12...No but that isnt to say someone else would and thats what the dealers are betting on. It's going to come down to how much you really want to be the first to have that bad boy on your block. If you definately want a '12 and it sounds like you do I would wait and shop around and strike the best deal in your area. Just as a reference I got my 2011 Sport Dbl for $26,500 out the door with leather added. That was with them competing with another dealer and at the end of the month where they were trying to get their totals in.

Now on to my opinion of the new '12. It's the same truck underneath can't go wrong there. As I said the interior refresh is nice. The front end change is a long time coming and had to happen sometime. Do I hate it no...do I love it no. The one thing that keeps me from liking the new front end so much is the front fender flare lines. They do not match up with the front bumper cleanly. Technically the flare stops before the bumper so why have the indention of the line anyway with no other reason than to give the illusion that the flare extends down the length of the bumper. Given all this I still need to see one in person which could change this perception.

Good luck in your purchase and I hope you get a deal on the one you want.

If this 2012 new Tacoma had new powertrain options the list of members wanting to trade in would a long one.

I own a 2011 Tacoma and was wanting to trade for 2012 because I was thinking the new designed front would be awesome looking and more rugged. In my opinion, it looks less appealing than my current 2011. The front doesn't seem to flow into the side body as the previous. The hood scoop on the TRD Sport has been flattened some and looks less rugged. The lights on the mirrors looked ok. The big noticeable difference was the interior fabric. I've owned a 2006 Tacoma before and the fabric was high quality. The 2011 fabric lost some thickness and quality, and the 2012 fabric is way cheaper looking than the 2011. The stereo is black and glossy meaning expect lots of finger prints and it will look less rugged than the previous metallic stereo. I really liked the steering the most but just wasn't enough to get me to make the trade. Over all, I am very happy I purchased my 2011 before waiting for the 2012.

What a sensitive bunch some of you are. LOL ...Still missing the point I was making. He shouldn't care if I tease him a bit about his color...he likes it. But I am sure he appreciate your support.

I do agree with most that the fender flare lines on the 12 bumper do not look as good as the 11....and the hood scoop on the 12 looks weak compared to the 11. But I do like the front end of the 12 better...the grill, the headlghts, etc. Definately the interior 12 is an upgrade of the 11. I don't hate the 11. When the 12 arrives locally and I go to the dealer...if they offer me a super deal on an 11, I may just get one....the Tacoma...any year...is a good looking truck.

But again...my OP was to hear what prices people are paying. I've purchased my share of vehicles...so I understand the concept of getting dealers to compete...but thanks for the input.

The hood scoop may have been lowered some because the older ones if hit by the sun just right will blind you from the glare.Could be a safety issue.

You will both come to love the 2012's just as much as you do your 2011's. This happens every time a new model is released. :D

I love my 2011, but there are a few things I'd like to steal from the 2012's.
