Everyone is entitled to their opinion...I think that color blue on your truck is fugly.....but I am sure you like it.

When I started the thread....wasn't really asking people to tell me if they thought it was fugly or not....but that's cool...this is what forum's are for.....more interested in to know what people are hearing about the price.

Check this out...you might find it helpful:

From the toyota pressroom 2012 tacoma release,
Entune includes Bing™ and Pandora®; real-time info including traffic, weather, fuel prices, sports and stocks. Apps available in spring 2012 at no charge include iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com and OpenTable®.

This makes me think that Bing, Pandora, real time traffic, weather, fuel prices, sports and stocks are what you will be paying for (The Toyota Entune system is a collection of popular mobile applications and data services, with three years of complimentary access). I have a garmin GPS that offered similar functions for an annual fee that I had a free 1 year subscription for. When it ran out I never noticed a difference and still use it all the time for the other features.

The 2012 updates include the front end change from the apex forward meaning simply fenders, hood, bumper, and grill. IMO it looks rediculous, and when I say rediculous I mean rediculously AWESOME!! but thats just me.

The interior has the updated steering wheel, the option of Entune which I like a lot, the sport and OR offer water resistant seats, sport has signals in the side mirrors and there is an optional rubberized floor instead of carpet.

Again "IMO," If you seriously get with in $1,000.00 for an '11 or a '12 I would get the '12 due to the feature upgrades offered to include the "Big Brake" which was an added expense before. You will get a lot of haters, mostly guys who own a '09-'11. I would they may be a little biased, but if you like the look and want the features, depending on the cost, I think the '12 hasa lot more to offer. Some people like simplicity and not all the techy crap added to it...I like it so my vote is 2012. Regardless of your choice they are all great trucks, even my '96 which is the best damn truck I've owned.

One more thing, it's not a redesign, it is a refresh so take that as a benifit. The powertrain is the same, the wheel base is the same and the truck will remain on the proven frame and suspention. The issue with first year redesign flaws is very true. This is not one of them. A few changes but nothing too major. In two years when the suposed full redesign happens, that is expected to be a complete overhaul to include motor. If it's not the 270hp Dual VVT-i the 4Runner has now, which I don't think it will be any more due to the "hybrid truck talk," I would think it wise to let the work the bugs out for about 2 years before I got one of those.

    Thanks elytravis....good input....i

If my math is right....the 2012 TRD Sport UPGRADE model will have 18' chrome wheels and the Entune/Navigation upgraded touch screen system for an additional cost of $2,380 (over a 2012 TRD Sport.)

Yes...the price for the '12 has gone up around $1,250 ...that is ...if the information the dealer gave me is accurate....based on the price they offered to sell an '11 and '12 of the same trim level

Based on the info I had, I actually went out of my way and bought a 2011 a couple weeks ago. The interior of the 2012 was a little nicer, but the exterior looks funny to me. Plus, I don't want the entune. I can get a way better aftermarket setup with the money I'll save. Plus, you're gonna want other aftermarket stuff that'll make the truck yours.

I would not believe a word a salesman says on 2012 pricing until there is one on their lot. You can't negotiate much on vehicles they do not have in stock.

I imagine you will be paying quite a bit more than the $500 over invoice that you were originally quoted.

I like the 2012, mainly the interior upgrades, but I personally feel like it's somewhat of a test dummy for some of the features (Entune mainly).

Also, on a positive note, everything I've read has said that you get three years of Entune free, not three months.

That's all just my opinion, though.

You make a good point about the Entune.....your '11 looks sharp. I am not hating on '11s...I like them, thats why I am buying a Tacoma.....but the 12's look good to me too.

up to you - but if you're going to buy a 2012, plan on waiting until the demand dies down and you can get it for a better price.
