pretty concrete description for something you've never tested or tried first hand.

yes, as a matter of fact. how about a reason, instead of simply labelling it something my 12 year old nephew would (your reasoning ability must be more mature than his)

No idea - I'm a bit more open minded. I wait and see what something is like BEFORE making a decision. POI? Fee? Well...

    1. POI's - gee, those won't change at all over time?? I mean, it's not like those things are updated often in 2011...
    2. Fee's? Get used to it... that's like in today's world.

It certainly doesn't look like junk - BUT, I will wait until I have actually seen it and used it to come to such a specific conclusion.

so by your logic anyone who owns a 2005-2011 tacoma will not like the 2012 front end. that's retarded.

and yes, it is ugly. :)

Thanks for the sincere concern OZ-T. With the price for a '12 only $300 higher, I am definately getting a '12. Realizing I will be paying closer to invoice if not over invoice than I would be paying for a leftover '11 that nobody has wanted to buy yet, otherwise it wouldn't be on the lot still.

I like the look of the '11 but I also like the '12. Compared to the '12, the '11 looks somewhat outdated. The interior of the '12 also seems so much more updated.

The quote I received does not show the base price so I cannot compare to the new pricing announced today by Toyota...but that doesn't matter. When the truck is on the lot I will see the sticker and ask to see the invoice the go to a few dealerships and see who can give me the best price.

Based on the quotes I received, it seems the UPGRADE version (Entune, Nav, and 18" wheels) will cost almost $2,400 more than the regular model. I do not travel enough to justify that added expense and I don't need Bing on my dashboard, my Samsung / Android phone has voice search, Google Maps with GPS....so I can use my phone for those apps. That said.....leaning away from the UPGRADE.

Just saw pics of some 2012's being hauled down the highway on the 2012 Megathread. Not a big fan of those chrome 18" Ford look-a-like wheels. I think that sealed the deal for me.....not getting the UPGRADE but def getting a '12.

The 2012 is much nicer. I just bought a 2011 almost 3 weeks ago. The steering wheel is outdated, as is the dash and the front grill.

I didn't like the look of 2nd gen until a year or so later. Took me 6 years to end up buying one after I owned a 98 Tacoma.

Toyota, I think, has forward thinking style. The new 4 runner is hideous, but I think we'll grow to like it.

I really, really like the new steering wheel on the '12.

    Good pick on the 2012!

But this isn't saying I don't like my 2011 at all!

I'm very happy with my truck. Have only 648 miles on it. :)

All the strong reactions to the 2012 crack me up. If you weren't a Tacoma aficionado I am not even sure most people could tell a 2011 from a 2012... it's such a minor update.

Interior is much nicer in 2012 though... that steering wheel rocks.

Me... if I was buying new... I'd get a 2012.

I would still go for the 2011's as of now, given the deals you can get on them.

No point in spending more money for just the interior until the powertrain follows suit.

I do envy that steering wheel, though.
