I coach 2 baseball teams and sometimes we have to use practice fields that do not have any type of power source nearby. I have used it to power a Jugs Jr. pitching machine several times. Of course I left the truck running....parked far away to avoid foul balls!:D

Would have been nice to have usable power. Not much you can do with 400W. I suppose they had to draw the line somewhere. 1000W+ would draw some serious power from the 12V system.

None, factory diff lockers are great.
Most of the time I use it for charging my jump box but now that it's getting cold outside I have hooked up a heating pad to it so my dog is more comfortable riding on long trips.

I bought an xbox off of craigslist, and i wanted to make sure it wasn't red ringed. So i plugged it in the back, worked good, and on my way. It was funny watching the guy as i plugged it in and tested it, he was like "a plug in the bed of a truck???"

Could you trickle charge your trailer batteries when towing with the inverter. That would be pretty handy... wait you would need to convert it back to dc...weak sauce.

My charger/trickle charger runs on 115Volt power. That would be possible.

I have run battery charger and my 250 watt halogen light that I always bring in my bed.

Fuzzy Dice, Fighter pilot mod, power ports always on, GPS wired to come on as key is turned, LED Map/dome lights, all weather mats, bed liner, tool box on rail system, Tinted tail lights, repainted badges, Home made grill, Light mounting bracket with two 6 inch. PIAA Drive lights, Stealth mod DTRL on/ off, leather arm rests, door and center.
I've read through this but I'm a bad reader. Has anyone notice negative effects from using a laptop, cell phone charger, camera batt., small things or say two small things. (what I believe are small things, not talking power tools or my house.) but what the 05 4-runner had. it would be nice to power things in the cab instead of leaving them in the bed.

    Thanks.

Just a note for the devices rated in HP: 1hp=745.7 Watts, so you should be able to operate anything rated at 1/2 hp or less.

It's one of those things that comes in handy in a pinch. I've done the 400w anytime mod and added an outlet in the cab. I use the one in the cab all the time. My son uses it for his Nintendo ds and it's nice to be able to charge random gadgets on. The one in the bed is handy when camping. I also have a DVD h/u so I can plug in the Xbox 360 as well.
