I have an air mattress with a built in pump. Use a 50ft extension cord and blow it up. Very convenient.

I did the mod - for 400W anytime - and while at it, put an outlet inside on the back of the consol. Used the Ford receptacle 'cause I like the cover (DUH). Inside outlet makes me feel better about connecting something in a rainstorm - tho it doesn't rain here a lot.

Best use so far - with several extension cords and a couple of trouble lights with low watt 120v LED bulbs - we did some serious troubleshooting on my son's garage electrical panel with the land power "off". It was way better than the flashlights we had used before. Also provided a work light source when rescuing a neighbor lady who dodged a deer, ran off in a wash and shredded a tire. I've got a 12v emergency light that runs off a lighter plug - but no convenient way to run it way out on an extension cord.

Run a modified ice cooler with .5 amp fan for the dogs in the camper shell. Works great.

Why heat your instruments? I don't heat mine. No issues. Maybe an heating pad. I don't know what they draw or require electrically ?

I just don't want to put American P bass in the bed when it's < 32F, if I had passengers.

I'll look into heating pads, thx.

Gotcha. P Bass is really sturdy. I don't have lots of cold weather but they always stay in hard shell case and I think they'd be ok. Honestly I never leave them in the truck anyway. Too many thieves to risk it. Always carry them or drop off after gigs. Feel sorry for drummers. Haha. Good luck. Let me know what you decide on.

I've used the power outlet to run a Bosch trim router outdoors in a beach parking lot. The router blows too many chips around the workshop. Also air pump, water pump to irrigate the garden from my tool chest filled with water, lights, pretty much everything. Never ran out of power, but have not tried saws and other heavy duty power tools. I have the tow option.

I run a small hot dog air compressor to inflate my air bags, bike tires, blow gun to clean the bed, etc.

I keep an AGM motorcycle 12v battery in the cubby next to the outlet for charging phones/electronics while camping. I use the bed AC to run a Battery Tender to keep it charged while on the road. Eventually will do the anytime mod.

6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
Powered my electric cutoff wheel to get through the steel chain the previous owner left on the fence to the property my family bought. Worked like a charm.

    Yawn...
    Heyyy I found my twin.

    The real name is Sam.

AND he's got the same year/trim truck.... gonna be scary if it's black too!

Looks like it's your first post. Welcome to TW.

I do wish people would mention the exact brands/models of what electronic devices they were running. That would help out a lot more when it comes to knowing wether or not something can trigger the inverter off.

Can someone confirm OP's post on the value being 3.63 amps?

If you divide 400W by 120V you get about 3.3A. You would have to look at the tech manual/label for whatever device you're using to see how much current or power it requires. Something else to consider is that an inductive device like a motor will have a starting surge that is several times greater than normal running current. If you want to power larger devices you should get a different inverter and higher output alternator.

Things. Stuff. Lots of bad decisions.
    Mostly Zip-Ties
I've only used mine a few times but it was super handy to have it. Mostly to charge camera batteries, cell phones, Bluetooth speakers, run an inflatable mattress blower, various lights, etc.

I really wish it could crank out enough juice to run a pole saw. It would make life so easy being able to drive from tree to tree, hop in the bed and let the cut limbs fall into a trailer. I'll keep dreaming I guess...
