120V Bed Outlet HELP!?!

    I wouldn't bet too much on it being a true sine wave. It would be nice but..
    I guess I should try it out, I think I still have a oscilloscope in my garage.

    It will work while the engine is off or driving down the road, but i think only at 100w. It has to be parked and idling to get 400w i believe.

    If you have a scope thst would be awesome..... I've always herd that modified wave inverters damage cordless tool batteries...... I'm really curious just never had access to a scope

    I started a new thread with what I observed as to the 120 VAC bed supply (click here).

    The admonition re: cordless tool batteries might have been true at one time with older linear design chargers, however modern chargers, using digital switching supplies (essential for lithium-ion cells), with improved regulation and battery monitoring should have no problems with the so-called "modified sine wave" output...

    The number one use I have found for my 120v outlet(s) - I put one in the back of the console to avoid a wet environment - has been to power an extension cord with convenient 120v LED low amp lamps.
