So I was during drive home from seeing the gf and I just like to use all all of the features in my tacoma every once in a while to make sure they work if I don't use them very often.

So I went to go press the 120V bed outlet button the 100w would not come on while I was driving.

Once I got home I let my truck idle for a good 15 mins with no headlights or anything on. I went to go try pressing the 120v button again and I get nothing when my truck is in Park.

I thought maybe I needed to charge up the battery a little since I was using my led light bar on my hour long drive home.

I was thinking maybe it could be a fuse or something.

Another thing is when I would press and hold the button in the 400w and 100w light would stay on for roughly 3-4secs then they would turn off. I attempted to test the outlet in the bed and obviously it didn't work.

I did go a little off roading today, a little splish and splash on the trail but nothing terribly extreme!

I need help!!! Let me know if anything has any ideas before I take it to the dealer.

Not sure, sometimes this happens with mine but I know it will not work when the vehicle is not in park. maybe the e-brake has to be on too? You could pop the center console off and check the wiring.

Inverter could be toast, if you are still under warranty I'd take it in.

So I have fixed my problem from almostv3 years ago. The reason why the bed outlet is not working is because of one of the relays in the small fuse box.
I didn't come up with this solution. Someone else told me about it on My YouTube video I made for this. I have attached a picture with a part number.IMG_9223.jpg

Almost 2 years and haven't used mine yet. Maybe I should give it a try to make sure it works before warranty is up.

last Christmas I was reading how a bunch of the guys were running around town with their Christmas lights lit up and also I read how some guys go from job to job while charging power tools back there... how does that square with the truck needing to be in park, I wonder.

Does anyone know what kind of inverter Toyota uses? Whether it is a true sine or a modified square sine wave inverter?

oh, I wouldn't know, all I know is its 400w. About the only thing I have ever used it for was to brag to my friends that I have one is all... ;)
