Well it looks like Dirt King added me onto their slot of pictures on their main homepage for their site today.

Well it looks like my parts to build the shocks arrived early. :D

The parts box came with cool snap bracelets. My model. :D

About 50% assembled. I have to pull all the snap rings and pistons and miscellaneous random shock part retaining hardware from the old shocks, but here is my stopping point for now. More to resume maybe tomorrow, for sure on Monday.

Mod day mods 4/11/15, I hit a stopping point at this picture waiting for Jerry to make the lower mounts and come over to weld everything.

Finished product. Thanks A BUNCH to Jerry at BAMF and everyone else for all your help at the mod day today. I seriously could not had done it without you guys.

    EDIT:

Installed some PRP quad wrapped limit straps to keep the suspension downtravel at the uniballs in check. The install on these was actually not too bad, but not as easy as it seems.

I have been doing some measurements and some recalculating on my front suspension setup, and it appears to me that Dirt King sent me the incorrect measurement for a proper air bump spacer. Based upon what I am currently running I have determined that I am actually using 5.03" of overall stroke out of my 6.53" available shaft on my SAW's. Based on the stock suspension travel ratio of 2x1 that nets me a usable 10.06" of suspension travel overall. Now that I have fully finally determined what is what here I can get to fixing the lack of bump stop spacing that Dirt King has calculated (atleast for my particular setup, others may vary) I'm going to take my available exposed shaft at the coilover of 5.03" and subtract the previous measurement I have taken of 4.625" spacing from the bump pad at the Dirt King lower control arm to the frame and subtract both... .405" (or 13/32) is the final spacing which my particular setup needs in order to keep the UCA misalignment spacers from binding at the cage during full stuff scenarios. This would also explain why my misalignment spacers on the UCA have been binding during full stuff scenarios and hard play.

I'm writing this for my own records so I don't forget. I'm also writing it so some people here can take initiative and take some good measurements of their stuff to make sure their suspension is dialed in correctly, but don't have the correct tools to do so by cycling their stuff. I am going to give Dirt King a call in the morning and inform them that their spacers they machined for my air bump cans they supplied me were incorrect and are causing binding at my misalignments. Given the stand up guys they are I see no reason as to why they would deny me of remachining these spacers for me and sending them off to me at their dime. Shouldn't cost much anyways.

For all guys who have DK stuff. Which I can think of a few as it is, you might want to check your stuff and make sure you arent binding at full stuff either.

@SconnieHailer @Wishbone Runner ... this one's for you guys. I hope this helps.

Yea I added extra bump spacers. The superbumps compressing further than stock didn't help either

    This.

I don't understand your issue though, you have cans, what do you need a spacer for?

Because when the cans were welded on they were welded in the same mounting spot as stock. You can't obviously slide the cans up and down after they have been burned onto the frame. Remember I have said that when setting up an MT setup correctly whether its bumps, shocks, or springs, its always best to play within the rules of stock. Since dirt king lowers their bump pad there needs to be space correction regardless of what kind of bump you run, since I have bumps though there is much less chance of dynamically letting the shocks reach past its point of full compression.

They are too pliable for their own good. That's a characteristic that is inherent with polyfoam though and it should be expected. 3/8 spacers are definitely not doing anyone any good though for sure and it should be thicker then that in the first place, but every one has a different setup so I get it.

Jealous... I have a feeling I'll never be boosted now that the TRD S/C program isnt supported. :(

    Oh and nice truck!

Well just because its not supported doesn't necessarily mean that you still can't get your hands on them. I know of a few dealers that still have the bower left if locating it is the problem!

You don't live in Cali. Maybe you can settle for a URD blower if worse comes to worse. Oh and thank you!

Yeah, to me its been a "bang for your buck" sort of thing. I've owned quite a few boosted vehicles in my time and none have been as expensive per hp as the Taco. lol

Agreed. Its mostly because it's a direct fit bolt on application manufacturered by the factory and I think thats why its so much.

True, I just can't wrap my head around the price. lol The more I think about it, the more I kick myself for not wrapping it into the financing of the truck.
