I have a mtn bike and a crossrunner bike. Kinda like a road bike with nobby tires. I like to go fast. So I try to keep my speed around 20mph or faster.

Ive done it on a hard tail mountain bike with hybrid tires at 65 psi, tires help a bunch, and were only $13 each @ performance bike when I bought them last year. And I was out of shape, so if you can lock your suspension I think you can do it.

^This. I've put some decent mileage on my hard tail with hybrid tires at the same pressure you mentioned. It rolls nice and easy.

Definitely let us know how it goes tomorrow!

I do it pretty regularly on dirt trails. Just remember to pick the pace your legs are comfortable with and change gears to stay within that pace. 14 Miles can easily be done in 45 min giving you time to cool off before you have to do anything.

Like several have said though, a practice run on the weekend will tell you more especially since you'll be able to gauge the return trip time which may be longer due to being tired.

Well ima have to leave the trip for the weekend, I'll be taking the truck tomorrow. Like I said earlier, I just don't want to risk not being there on time when my nephew's bus drops him off

This weekend is a sure thing though. I will definitely let you guys know how it goes. :)

I'll be looking much like I did last weekend

Could someone explain what locking the shock is? I'm assuming it helps with pedaling on road?

Locking the shock so that it will not absorb any energy, primarily from the pedalling motion, and said enery is actually put to use and not lost.

I think thats what it means
